Woo Hoo - we're only 4 days away from Florida's first DrupalCamp!
We have over 100 people signed up (http://drupalflorida.eventbrite.com/) for the event on this Saturday, February 7th at MindComet's offices in Altamonte Springs.
We have 2 networking event scheduled: Friday night at bd's Mongolian Grill - we'll be heading there once setup is done at MindComet (approximately 7-8PM). On Saturday evening, after the camp, we have a room reserved at Emiliano'z (yes, really, it should be a "z") for dinner and drinks.
Registration begins at 8AM on Saturday - if you are bringing your laptop and don't have Drupal installed, we'll have people available to help get you up and running. The opening session begins at 9AM. See the complete schedule for all the details.
We'll be selling DrupalCamp Florida t-shirts at the event for $10 each.
Drinks and lunch will be provided at no charge. We'll be raffling off a number of Drupal-related items during the camp as well!
We're still looking to borrow a couple of projectors for the event. If you can help us out, please leave a note in the comments below.
See you on Saturday!

Projector
I am willing to bring my projector. Let me know when you need it.

superfantastic
Hewie,
Great - thank you for the offer.
We basically need it for the entire day - so that we can project the day's schedule on the wall for everyone to see. Just let the people at the registration desk know about it when you arrive and someone (probably Andrew, Ryan, Joe, or myself) will take care of it.
Thanks again,
-mike
Question - Internet
New to Drupal...and want to learn more on how to implement it.
Will we be able to connect to the internet - wireless?
My Laptop runs Vista, but I will have Drupal installed on a site.
Thanks
Cheryl
wifi
Yes, there will be wifi available on-site.
It might make more sense for you to install Drupal locally on your laptop though. If you show up between 8-9am, we'll have people available to help you do just this.

Install Drupal under Vista??
Mike,
I am running Vista..need to confirm that this can be done, as I know you need MySQL and PHP5 and Linux.
Thanks
Cheryl

not to worry .... you can easily install drupal on vista. check out
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html
this installs everything you need in one simple install -- apache, mysql and php5 ... once you have this running you are ready to install drupal

Install
Joe,
Its the running... I am concerned about. Did this under XP a couple of years ago, it worked but had a problem with going back and forth to the browser for development. However I am willing to give it a try again under Vista.
Should I download and attempt the install myself before I come or would it be better to let you guys do it?
Should I download the Drupal install and have it ready on the machine?
Sorry, not a tech, but do appreciate all help.
