Coffee Meet up in mumbai

I will definitely be available for this meetup in Mumbai. And a coffee shop sounds good. I think this is a good opportunity to get to know the drupalers from Mumbai. I think I missed this bit of info at DC (maybe thats cause all i met were people from pune :P ).

I wanted to meet you guys again, after the recent Drupal Camp changed my perspective about Drupal. I've got a lot of things to talk about. I'll try to make it. I'll be coming from Pune.

Lets decide on a convenient common place for everyone. A good way would be to mention the timing and location preferences.

I start :
Sunday : 5pm in the evening
Location : Anywhere :) I live in Chembur but no issues with location.

sunday works for me as well, mukesh and gaurav can u prepare a 5 min POA and post which coffee day etc. kevin, if u r coming from pune then it'll be easier to get down at chembur. u know ur way around in mumbai right?

As u said kevin is coming from pune, it wud be better if we meet at ccd chembur(e). As far as POA is concerned, we can start discussing the current issues that we have as developers, and end up coming up with some plans of how to spread the word of the small community of drupal developers in india, especially in mumbai... Wat else?

Hello,
A Wonderful Brain Storming Session took shape at the CCD. It started mild but after the Coffee, things started going at rocket speed. A few key topics we discussed about were:

1. The Webform Module
2. Improving Perfomance of Drupal
3. Drupal6 Vs. Drupal5
4. Directing the Internet Traffic with creative Application Ideas and Marketing Strategies
5. Contributing to the Drupal Community with new Modules

The meetup was definitely very productive.

To elaborate a little:

1. The Webform Module : Customization to include new widgets in forms.
2. Improving Perfomance of Drupal : Apache Tuning, Memcache, PHP Accelerators, Squid etc.
3. Drupal6 Vs. Drupal5 : New social networking features in D6 (and what's needed in 7)
4. Directing the Internet Traffic with creative Application Ideas and Marketing Strategies : More of a general discussion with us discussing pros and cons of building an entirely new social network for a particular concept and then comparing it with "Applications" for already existing generic social networking sites.
5. Contributing to the Drupal Community with new Modules : Self explanatory.

The discussions were pretty interesting. I enjoy people talking about their experience with Drupal, as in what they find easy or difficult or cool and not feasible. All that happened :) Only thing I would love to see more participation. I know Dipen wanted to come and couldnt make it.

Lets find out more ways by which people can find time to join these meets. Was it a wrong day ?? :) I would love to see another meet within next 2 weeks or so.

BTW, we were 5 in the meet: Gaurav Kumar, Kevin Gomes, Amit Vyas, Abhishek Anand, and me.
