We're almost 100! Let's set the table...

What should we do to celebrate the 100 subscriber plateau? Should we have a party? Should we work on something? Seems like the sky's the limit in terms of amazing things we can do. What sorts of things would people like to accomplish, build and/or learn? Does this group contain mainly developers? Are there a lot of artists/musicians, people in related business'? How can we use Drupal to not only distribute, but filter and recommend music and art? Are there ways that art and music can help Drupal raise awareness and/or fund development (similar to public broadcasting)?

This is the 'Art & Music' group - shouldn't we know how to throw a party?!?

I am a developer and have

tealou-gdo - Sun, 2006-12-10 05:33

I am a developer and have been using Joomla for a while, but am finding that Drupal seems to fit my needs a bit more so have been reading this page with interest.

What I would like to create is some form of "default" install of Drupal that is tailored for artists, bands or similar. I find myself manually configuring and/or building custom sites a lot. I am working on my own CMS atm but am thinking of ditching it and just committing to an OS project and helping that instead.

I am also interested in the idea of "premium content" for subscribers to musicians sites. I think this is a big area that seems to go unexplored with many label-run sites. Would love to create a full-on module that addresses this. Anyone wanna help?

It was exactly the same thing that attracted me to Drupal - plug and play solutions for Artists, Venues, Labels, and other music-centric clients. In Drupal, they're called install profiles and distributions - there's already some talk about it in this group and elsewhere:
