As discussed in the December thread, we're looking at two options for location and date for the January meeting. At the moment, I'm leaning towards January 18th at the Walkertown library (to give a different location a try and see if it's a bit nicer than Kernersville's). I would like to set it up by Tuesday, so please let me know if that date JAN 18, and location WALKERTOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY are fine.

January 18th is good for me.
Walkertown Library is also fine. Let's give it a try. I've been there and it is definitely nicer than Kernersville.

Hi, I have us set up for the 18th at the Walkertown Library for 6:30 PM.
I will say that I believe Walkertown is less-centered than Kernersville, and I can't see it being as convenient for everyone, especially those on the further edges. I'm actually equidistant to the two, so it's of no great importance to me, but it will be further for Katrina B for sure.
Does anyone have any ideas and/or specifics on discussion items this go around?
Route and time
Google Maps reports 20.2 miles for the most direct (but slower: 38 minutes) route and 25.9 miles (37 minutes) for the "fastest" route for me. (I'm living in High Point now.) I'll have to wait and see how that week goes for me; I have to go into the office (in Raleigh) Wednesday of next week -- I may not feel like taking another road trip for a while after that.

Understood, hopefully you
Understood, hopefully you (and others) cane make it, but I haven't heard any word from most of the group yet.
I can make that date
Brandon do you know if anyone has volunteered to do any of the sessions?

No one has so far.

Session Ideas
Here are some things I'd be interested in discussing and would be able to lead discussion around:
* Getting started with PhpMyAdmin to administer a Drupal database through the GUI instead of command-line.
* I believe real learning involves seeking answers to our questions. We could discuss our individual Drupal-related learning goals and questions.
* Following up on those questions, we could discuss possibly setting up a learning website for TriadDUG. I could demo DokuWiki and / or Moodle, which could be good platforms for this.
* Is there interest in a TriadDUG website?
Other ideas? Please share questions & interests. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Focusing on one
Narrowing things down a bit, I'd like to cover one of the topics above. Admittedly, it's hard to know what would be helpful and new to everyone, so if this seems too basic for our group let me know.
I can show how I use PhpMyAdmin to perform every function I need in MySQL except installing it. :)
* setting up Drupal database and user permissions
* methods of backing up and restoring a Drupal database
* searching a database for specific Drupal content, for instance an old URL or file path that needs to be changed
* tweaks to php.ini and php extensions that help when using PhpMyAdmin
How does this sound?
Ben
That all sounds great to me!
That all sounds great to me! Glad you'll be able to make it this time Ben.
I'm hoping to be there
I'm hoping that I'll be able to make it this month. Gas prices (and the fact that I drive an SUV) will make it challenging -- but I'm going to do my best to get there. Wish I had time to create a session to present ... maybe next month.

Great! Looking forward to it.
JJmonterey, that's a good idea. I've been working on making my own distribution/installation profile, and my plan was for talking about it next month (February) to do a presentation on it, I won't be ready to do it tonight though.
Data projector?
I think this library does not have a projector for our use. Does anyone coming tonight have a portable projector they can bring along? I do not have one.
