Are we having any meetups this month? BTW - are we having another SWDrupalSummit like ya'll had last year?
Sorry new to the group so being nosy and asking!
Trying to work out my free time to ensure I can try to make the events.

Jan. 26th Meet Up?
That's the date I've got marked in my calendar: the 4th Thursday, our regular meetup date.
As for SWDrupal Summit, last I heard from "The Powers That Be" (i.e. the people actually doing WORK on it), they were still working on scheduling issues. Stay tuned!
Jan MeetUp and SW Drupal Summit

For the January meetup we may have a speaker from Soft Layer web hosting, so location will probably be the Soft Layer offices.
Regarding the SW Drupal Summit, initially we had a date set for February, but the hotel messed things up and took too long to let us know that the requested dates were already taken. It's not easy finding hotels in Houston that can host events for 200-300 attendees and will not charge an arm and a leg. Further more, as we are all a supportive community we are trying to also find best dates that are not overlapping to too close by to other major Drupal events (or just major events... some too have only tentative schedules) such as: DrupalCon Denver - March, SxSW - March, Dallas Drupal Days - July, DrupalCon Munich - August, Do It With Drupal - October, DrupalCamp Austin - November etc.
As you can see this is not an easy task, since many of the sponsors give to many (if not all) of those events, and may speakers/attendees attend many (if not all) of those events. We are trying to figure out WHEN is the best time, and WHERE will be the most attractive option for both attendees, speakers, and sponsors, so that all parties involved get the most out of the event.
We will need volunteers to help, so if any of you group members wish to lend a helping hand, please let me know!
