Hi all,
So I installed VirtualBox this morning on my WinXP machine - I don't have a Mac. :-( I created a new VM called Ubuntu-test and now I'm stuck. The VM isn't bootable, of course, since I haven't installed an OS. I'm looking at the VirtualBox Manager and see my Ubuntu-test (powered off). If I start it, I get the terminal window with the message, "FATAL: No bootable medium found! System halted." That makes sense as I'm assuming Vagrant is going to install my Ubuntu OS. But I click in the terminal window and can't even type anything. My keyboard apparently is being captured because if I press the right control key, it brings me out of the VM. How do I continue? Any idea what step am I missing?
Thanks,
Mickey

Hi Mickey,
I'm working on install instructions for windows users. The biggest issue is that windows isn't a good platform for ruby. I'm going to try and get it working with cygwin this week. I'll keep you posted.

You want to follow the cygwin installer route and not the native windows route. The cygwin is the top half of the page.

Thanks!
Thanks Pearce! I've since gone to using Quickstart instead but I plan to give this a try just for comparison's sake when I get some free time. Thanks much!

Just came across this and
Just came across this and wanted to suggest for websurfers of the future that this might be the best group to discuss things like vagrant/chef etc:

Also, we've got a vagrant-related project that we've been working on as well. Folks in the government of Canada are actually working on getting clearance for Virtualbox and Vagrant to be sanctioned software on government dev workstations, with an eye to use Ariadne as a way to standardize developer experience across departments:
