A major Buenos Aires newspaper has invited me to give a presentation early next week on using Drupal.
Apart from the obvious opportunity for myself individually, I feel that the talk will be a great responsibility in that I am representing Drupal itself, and not simply my own services.
I have some great ideas for the presentation, but in light of this responsibility, I would like to receive input from this group in particular.
My questions are:

Why use CMS?

Why use Drupal?
Apart from obvious case studies we all know about, ... why use Drupal for newspapers?

What is Drupal excellent at?

What should Drupal not be used for?
-
How does Drupal fit in with the industry workflow.
(here I have the idea, which I have already implemented for some clients, of one Drupal site as intranet production, and another or others as publication (alongside other avenues of publication, like paper).

Cross-industry collaboration
I would push the concept of cross-industry collaboration. At this point it's more promise than reality but the promise is powerful, especially if you can articulate the way idea-sharing and code-sharing works in the Drupal community.
Earlier this week we were talking with a video services provider that is not supported by the emfield module. Back when he was with McClatchy, Chris Yates wrote an emfield plug-in, but it never was released outside the company. We need to get media companies on board with collaborating, with sharing code, and out of the position of becoming slaves to vendor lock-in.
In line with that ... we intend to release several more modules in the next few weeks.
Community site vision
The reason we started using Drupal in 2005 is that it fits our vision of building community engagement through the Web. There are plenty of newspaper-specific content management tools that spit out flat pages and support a one-to-many content distribution model. That's fine if you want to live in the past. The present and the future are all about social networking and interaction, and content can come from everyone. At Morris, we refer to our Drupal migration project as the "Morris Site Management System." It's not just a tool for managing news content; it's a tool for managing all sorts of information from a broad variety of sources, including the community, and for connecting people with one another through social networking tools.

That's very clear, will avoid my preaching to the choir on one-to-many publication workflow, and allow me to press to the fore on what's hot among users and precisely what Drupal is strongest in, and is growing stronger as we speak.
Plus the question of proprietary software lock-in, in addition to what Jeff Eaton called "promiscuous Drupal" at DrupalCon DC: how Drupal can integrate with existing services.

I would be happy to share it with you but my focus was more specific example of big media's website. Number of users moth, number of account etc... + What sort of things Drupal can do for a newspaper.
