There will be plenty of people there who will be more than happy to lend you a hand in understanding Drupal. Plus, it's just a great place to meet other people who are into Drupal and make some new nerdy friends!

I'm presently designing a site for a church in Kansas City, MO using the contributed free Fusion theme plus the Fusion Accelerator module. Here's a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/8eb5yxgG48s - Of course, the design is totally custom and is built upon fusion_core, which is a base theme.

If you're in San Ramon, consider coming to the Tri-Valley Drupal Users Group meetings in Livermore. Our next meeting is February 20th. After the presentation we open the meeting to "Users helping users"-type questions.
