It can be done but I don't think you gonna get what you want just by using CCK and Views. I think you'll have to build a custom module for that Payroll and time sheet feature you want.
Personally I think you'll be better off using something else.

if you're interested in setting up a payroll system, you need not set it up from scratch. you can use timetrex, it's open source and it's not that hard to setup. =) no offense meant to the drupal community. =)

you're doing the community a favor actually, if you suggest something else that can do the task better.
The person who will force fit Drupal to the task will just end up spending more time working on it than he has to if he uses something else. That doesn't help anyone.
