I would like to add Drupal activities in the Monmouth County area, including Meetups and what can become an annual event in the area this summer. Is this the best place to put these activities or should I start a specific group for Jersey Shore activities?
My company has been an event producer for over 17 years, so we have very good relationships with many of the facilities throughout the state. In particular, I'd like to add a summer event at the Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch this summer. We're ramping up Drupal development in-house for various needs and would like to actively participate in the local community, including sponsorship and providing most of the resources needed for local events.

I would strongly suggest keeping it within the New Jersey group - it's very helpful to see what others are doing in the state and cross-fertilize ideas.
I am adding a "Monmouth County" term to the group's meetup vocabulary and re-classifying this post to be within that.

I agree that keeping it within the NJ Group is a good idea, but if we have a few Drupalists in Monmouth County that find it difficult to travel to Princeton or NNJ for the meetups we should consider having something more local to us. We could start with a local gathering to exchange ideas/challenges while always bubbling things up to the NJ group.
No Paradox
There is no contradiction in having a Monmouth County Drupal Users Groups that is also part of the larger NJ Drupal Group.
The Northern NJ DUG has used this same structure successfully for about 3 years.
While I'm not in Monmouth myself, I strongly support your wish to organize a Drupal group there.
The more Drupal groups we have in NJ, the better.

Monmouth County PlayDay/Coworking
I'm be interested in starting/sponsoring something similar to the NYC PlayDays or the Princeton area coworking in Monmouth County. Looking to start this in mid-February after DrupalCamp NJ 2013. Any one who is interested, either comment below or message me directly.

It really depends on when we would get together, nights/weekends, etc. I'm in Eatontown, so maybe someplace in or around Red Bank down to Belmar. If we want to use the Princeton coworking model...there's a Wegmans at 1104 Highway 35, Ocean , NJ 07712. However, I could also look into some of the area libraries. I know the one by me in Shrewsbury (1001 Route 35, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702) is open until 9pm Monday-Thursday, and I could look into if they have space to accomodate something like this. I'm open to any suggestions as well!
Hosting Drupal event
I'd be willing to host a Drupal event in the Red Bank area. Depending on size, it can be an office we have in Tinton Falls or we can go to Ocean Place Conference Center in Long Branch if you want something larger.

Hi Rich! I'm still interested in trying to get something started in the Jersey Shore. What type of event did you have in mind? I'd suggest we try for a couple of meetups first to gauge the interest and take it from there. Worst case is a few of us Jersey Shore Drupalists get together and talk shop.

Want to try to do something in March, that will give us a few weeks to get the word out in the area. Perhaps the 4th Tuesday? My thought is to keep any get togethers a week or two on either side of the regular Central NJ group meeting, which is the second Thursday of each month.
I like...
the 4th week of the month, but Tuesdays and Wednesdays are not the best days for me. Thursdays work best for me.
