As DrupalCamp Colorado will be on June 27 and 28, we will not have our regular Southern Colorado Drupal Users Group meeting in July.
Our August meeting is entitled "Fix my Web Site". Bring your Drupal web site problems and challenges and we'll share our experiences to address your current Drupal challenges. If you're completely new to Drupal, we'll have folks available to demonstrate how to install and configure Drupal for the first time and more.
We will be raffling off a great T-shirt from Volacci called "Drupal 6 Cheat Sheet" at this meeting.
Many thanks for our host, the East Library in Colorado Springs. Our regular meetings are on the first Thursday of the month. We'll start socializing at 6:30, and the actual event will begin at 7:00. Our host locks up at 9, so we'll have to be out by then.
As always, if the discussions here point us in a different directions, that's where we'll go!

Working on Getting Raffle Items for August Meetup
Recently, at DrupalCamp Colorado I spoke with Michael Hofmockel, one of the leaders of the Iowa group (http://groups.drupal.org/iowa). He mentioned that something that he does to help promote attendance and keep users interested is to sign up for "user group" accounts with book publishers who have Drupal titles available. They often send him free books in exchange for users in the group writing book reviews in different places online. They also have received extra copies for having the publisher logo/links available on the group home page. I told him this sounded like an excellent idea.
I'm going to sign up for a few of these and see what I can come up with for the August meetup. Would Rick or Preston be able to update the group home page and add the publisher logos (maybe at the bottom like the Iowa group has done?) if we can get some materials from them?
Oh, and I've already received a "Drupal 6 Cheat Shirt" from Volacci that I'll try to raffle off at the meetup. They sent me a large which is too big for me.

More Raffle Items
My attempts to get books from the publishers have worked!
O'Reilly sent me two copies of "Using Drupal", and Apress sent me one copy of "Pro Drupal Development" to give to the group. I was thinking that at the August meetup, I'd plan on raffling off one copy of each book to the group, along with the Volacci shirt. I'll probably post to the group about this next Monday so that everyone gets a reminder about the upcoming meetup and these items that they might be able to get their hands on.

Just a thought
Perhaps we might want to raffle each item off at the August, September, and then October meeting?

New Drupal users
Heads up. Besides the "Fix My Site" topic, we will have several folks attending who are very new to Drupal, so we should also be prepared to give introductory demos of working with Drupal.
