I don't think the Boston videos have all been posted yet.
PicLens Example Code
At our meeting last night, http://groups.drupal.org/node/13812, I presented the PicLens module for Drupal and showed how to hook up your own custom modules into the PicLens module API.
I have attached my example module for Drupal 5 and the Drupal 5 version of PicLens.
To use this module install the PicLens add-on and then
- Download pldemo.zip.txt, rename to pldemo.zip and unzip and install the pldemo module in the normal manner and enable in the module admin
Here it is... The Dash Media Player
Hey guys! I just posted the forum topic for the Dash Media Player. You can find it here... http://drupal.org/node/295597.
I also made the project page at http://www.drupal.org/project/dashplayer. There is still a lot of work to do, but I thought I would just go ahead and get it out there.
What do you guys think? You can go to http://www.tmtdigital.com/project/dash_player to get the full scoop!
See you guys in two weeks!
Drush and PicLens
This is great, we have two meetings under our belt. We are well on our way to being a legitimate group. Bring your friends!
Usually, I like to press the crowd at each meeting to set the agenda for the next meeting. So bring your topic ideas to the next meeting.
So in the effort to get something on the schedule Dan and I each volunteered to present our favorite module of the moment.
Dan Degeest will present the PicLens module which he just heard about two days again. Now he's looking for places to stick it. It's wonderful Eye-Candy, an "immersive slideshow experience"!
Request for Help on Vietnam-era Resource Site
Hi everyone... I got a request to post this information from a new user whose having a problem actually joining the site (we'll straighten that out at the next meeting). I'm posting this for Ken Wachsberger. All questions should go to Ken at Ken.Wachsberger at cengage.com.
Congratulations John! Lullabot wins again!
John VanDyk has done so much for Drupal and the community already. I'm so excited now that he will be focused on Drupal full time!
Congratulations John! And Congratulations Lullabot!
Staying Current requires the right feeds.
I pride myself on keeping current on Drupal news and especially on new Drupal modules. One way I do that is I read alot of RSS feeds daily. Every morning when I sit down to begin my day I start with reading my aggregated feeds on my website - http://www.hofmockel.org/aggregator/categories
- I find the Planet Drupal aggregated RSS feeds a little too inclusive - http://drupal.org/planet
Here is an export of my aggregator_feed table (Just the Drupal related ones). Of course you could just read it directly on my site if you like. But if you only read one make it the "New Module" list on Drupal.org - http://drupal.org/taxonomy/term/14/0

Iowa Drupal Users Group Meeting - 10Jun08 7pm
A wonderful thing happened today, I reached out to a community and they welcomed me!
Now just a few short hours later after my first post, I am confident that not only will I be able to have a beer with a few Drupal guys in Ames but it is likely that there is enough interest that a regular monthly meeting is possible. This rocks!
I wanted to re-post this as a true event so people can sign-up and see it on the calendar.
Iowa Drupal meeting
June 10, 2008 @ 7pm
I will Drupal in Ames
Hello!
I've been building Academic Research websites for the past few years. The past four years has been exclusively with Drupal. I'm quite an enthusiast. I have worked entirely at home and It can leave me feeling isolated/lonely. So I founded the Ann Arbor Drupal Users Group and it has been a wonderful experience for me. I have met great colleagues and friends across all sectors. We meet monthly and freely share what we know about Drupal.
Drupal Developer in Omaha area? | Open Source Experts
I've started a project that I do not have time to finish. The Web site deals with the exciting music industry, which is what drew me in, but my full-time commitments leave me little to no time to work on this. I'm looking for someone that can immediately pickup where I left off and get the site up and functional for the client.
The site consists of Views, Node Profiles, Ubercart, and Workflows, so advanced Drupal knowledge is required.
It is up to you to negotiate a contract with the client. I will be available to answer any question on what I've done so far.
Senior Web Developer, Drupal | Inc.com & FastCompany.com
This position is located in New York City. We will pay relocation expenses for the right candidate.
Inc.com and FastCompany.com, two of the fastest-growing and most prominent business web sites in the U.S., have a position open on their technology staff. We are looking for a senior candidate who has extensive experience with the Drupal content management platform.
First Iowa Drupal Meetup
Join us for our first Iowa Drupal Meetup (or Drupal-corn, if you will) in the Skybox at Legends on Thursday, November 16. We plan to eat at 6 pm and begin informal presentations around 7:30 pm. You are welcome to wander in at any time. The event is being organized by Lullabot. RSVP to Matt Westgate.
We'll have a projector available and the location has wireless internet.
Lullabot leads me to Iowa group
I was driving up to Lake Okoboji area to meet my wife and children (they were vacationing, I was working) and used the time to catch up on podcasts. I listened to the July 7th podcast from Lullabot and found out about the Iowa group. I have just started incorporating Drupal as an integral part of our web presense at Pella Community Schools. I am a relative newbie to Drupal and am very excited to have people in Iowa to network with about Drupal and open source in general. Not to mention the podcast is very informative.
Our main site is Zope (http://www.pella.k12.ia.us) and I am in the process of porting our grade level (elementary) and department sites (middle school & high school) to Drupal. I am also playing with Elgg and we have been using Moodle for 3 years now.
Visiting Iowa
I need to, in the next few days, decide when to visit Iowa. I'm thinking July 27/8 - 30 or sometime in early to mid August, after the 2nd. Who is going to be around?
Update I'll be in town Saturday Sept. 2 and Sunday Sept 3.
Are people interested in a gathering in Central Iowa?
