Welcome to the Iowa Drupal Users Group (DrupalCorn)
We are an open group of Drupal users in Ames, Iowa willing to freely share knowledge about Drupal.
We meet the last Monday of every month from 7pm - 9pm usually followed by beers at a local watering hole.
Our next meeting - http://groups.drupal.org/taxonomy/term/47114
DrupalCorn is in a New Location!
The Iowa Drupal Group is expanding. At the last meeting we even ran out of chairs. We are moving to a larger venue: 333 Science II on the ISU campus. It is easy to get to. From Hwy 30, take University Boulevard until you pass the horse barns. Park north of Pammel Drive, cross Pammel, and enter the building by the northeast door. Go to the third floor to room 333. We will have signs posted.

creating a view of files in a private file system selecting files via path
Im converting a a site from D6 to D7 and one of the major reasons for doing so was to use the private file system feature of D7. This is supposed to be a departmental only site so they would like some of the file to be private.
in D6 they were public and I just made views by using filters on file:path for views of specific directories and things worked great. Id specify something like path contains: "document/forms" and Id get just the files in that directory.
in D7 with private files all I get for paths are things like: private://Customer List_Feb 8 2012.xlsx

Transferring search terms from Google
We had a discussion riddled with confusion and debate about under what conditions search terms are passed from Google searches to the target site. Primarily, there was debate about Google searches executed as Secure Shell or https. This is of interest because Google has made a move to run searches when logged into Google as Secure Shell.
