Developers

We currently have 2 developers in the forum; James Michael-Hill, creator of the original Drupal-netForum modules; and Josh McCormack. Any of the Customer members can invite their developers.

Developers, please jump right in and help us identify modules we should be including, comment on the Level Of Effort (LOE) for including modules and the relative value of each module - at least ones you are familiar with. Also, comment on the proposed RAD/Spiral Development process & how we can identify costs so we can actually fund work.

Ask questions, get involved...

Let's get this show on the road! The sooner we get started, the better for all!

Regards,
Paul

Please start making your voices heard!

Suggest module/functionality, comment on other's postings. Don't let me be the only poster - I don't know your needs. We can't get this moving without you!

Developer work structure

pdube's picture

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I think it would behoove us to start defining how the work will get divided among you. One option is to work in virtual teams with individuals from several organizations working together on given modules/tasks. Another option is for each developer to 'own' the maintenance/development of a given module.

Thoughts?

Developer specific modules

Here we can discuss what modules you, the developers would like to see in the product.

For example, is there a Project Management module we can use to manage this development? Using Drupal for the Drupal development is like drinking your own Koolaid.

My hitlist

I've been thinking about what I need to do next, and a better roadmap is one of them. I also think that a nice big chart or five showing feature compatibility would be helpful for people too, because there's netFORUM Team/Pro, Enterprise 1/2/2.2, Drupal 5, and Drupal 6. Here is what I was thinking of working on in order:

  • Authentication with netforum 2.2
  • Drupal 6 Authentication module
  • Drupal 6 nodes module
  • Drupal 6 views module
  • Team/Pro nodes or views or something specific to team/pro for content
  • Maybe better ExecuteMethod support, perhaps a directory module?

Hi James, Uhh... yeah,

Hi James,

Uhh... yeah, making the current module work with v2.2 for authentication is pretty important. We can not go live with 2.2 until it works. :P
