I would like to follow a similar approach to meetings as that of the Johannesburg meetings (http://groups.drupal.org/node/23663). We will have 2 sessions, the first a planning, non technical session where we will chat about group stuff such as the format of the next meeting.
The second session will be technical where we will chat about some issues that people are having etc ... I would like to create an agenda, so if you would like to have something on it post a comment with what is hassling you and I will add some of them to the agenda.
Location: Sinns Restaurant, Wembly Square, Cape Town (map: http://www.sinns.co.za/directions.htm)
Planning session: 18:30 -> 19:30
Cover group stuff
30 minutes of chit chat
Tecnical session: 20:00 - 22:00
Discussions:
-- Roger Saner:
installing and configuring drupal (using the Acquia stack installer)
views + CCK
-- Jonathan Wagener
Useful modules that should be installed by default
site theming tips and tricks.
The content for the technical discussions has not been set yet. If you have something to present or would like to discuss something please either leave a comment or contact me via the personal contact form.
I will be updating this post with an agenda as it is set up.

Drush
Having just discovered Drush yesterday... http://drupal.org/project/drush
Would have to recommend this as a more advanced but absolutely essential tool to Drupal developers looking to cut down the time spent deploying sites.
I know Adriaan was one of the main contributors to this module, maybe he would be interested to give a proper run through of it?
If not, I dont mind giving a bit of a run through what I have learnt to do with it so far, although I am only just scratching the surface with what it can do. Still scratching the surface already seems to be saving a lot of time.
Thanks
Gregg

I'm there
Hey there
I will be there...(think I signed up,.... yes....)
Rockin
Hiya all
Hiya all
I loved the last meeting, as I am doing all I can to learn Drupal and the meetings are very helpful to me. I have just been told that I will have to work late tomorrow night. The one night of the meeting. There is nothing I can do. Its all very ironic, and sucks, as it is the one time a month there is a meeting and I hardy have to stay late. I will try pop by but all pls accept my apology and know that I am very keen to keep learning Drupal.
I just want you all to know how upset and sorry I am.
Tyrone
Trying my luck
Hiya again
I know its a huge ask but if someone is able to record (video/audio) the meeting it would help me a lot.
Just trying my luck thanks.

Fun!
Great, thanks for a fun night. I got home and my voice was cracking - I tried to talk as loudly as I could, but I don't know it was loud enough? Anyway, it was stretching my vocals! Next time hopefully we'll have more laptops so people can follow along in their own environments.
The Acquia stack installer is here and you can also download Acquia drupal on that page.
My Views + CCK demo is covered very well by the Lullabots who have published Free Drupal CCK & Views Video Chapters on their site.
Other modules mentioned last night:

Thank You!
Definitely agreed, that was a great meeting. Thank you Jonathan for organizing this so well, with monitor and all, beautifully done.
Maybe in our next meeting the more experienced users to split up for 1 hour with a beginner each to walk through the basics?
Thank you Roger for all your input :)
Looking forward to the next one.
Lilian
CheckBoxMate
Thanks Lily - a challenge for us will always be to cater for a wide variety of experience - from people who've never heard of drupal before, right through to developers. One way is to partner experienced people with less experienced, or to split the room into two groups each time, where one group does a "how to install and configure" talk each time, and the other does something more advanced.
That firefox extension I use that allows for the simultaneous selection of multiple checkboxes is called CheckBoxMate: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9740
Uber Cool
Hey all

thanks for the meeting.
Been playing with Calais and Ubiquity...
Have about 1% understanding of what they do and about 1% of that 1% how they work but they are cool.
