I'm about 95% sure I'm going to DCParis but one hitch that I and several of my colleagues have had is this; where should I stay while in Paris if I'm going alone? Going as the sole representative of an organization, renting an apartment by oneself doesn't really make sense. Is there a wiki or anything to see if others are looking for roommates for an apartment, or some recommended hotels, as was on the DrupalCon North America site?

Accomodation options
I'm just working on a list of accommodation options, hopefully to suit all tastes and budgets. It will be posted on the drupalcon site tomorrow afternoon, French time ;-)

CouchSurfing?
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is CouchSurfing or the Hospitality Club. Surfing someone's couch for essentially no fee does come with certain limitations, but it can drastically help if you happen to be traveling alone to Paris and perhaps don't know the city too well.
If you're not yet a member, now would be the time (a couple months before the visit to Paris) to create your account and start filling out your profile and searching for hosts. Note that this is not recommended for groups of more than about 2 or three people simply because it will be harder to find a host whos willing to put up a bunch of people at once. It works optimally for solo travelers who are flexible and outgoing.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions about CS and HC via the personal contact form as I've been a host for a couple years now, and have also used it in my travels.
