Request for possible topics for next (or future) WMass meetup

I have a couple requests for possible presentation/discussion topics for a future WMass meetup, if someone considers him or herself sufficiently knowledgeable on one or more of these topics:

1. Organic Groups User Roles module - OGUR seems to be the answer to my prayers for a way to manage authoring access to a public-facing school site: each section of my site is a publicly accessible organic group. By adding a basic authenticated user to a group as an administrator, I grant that user create/edit/delete access within just that part of the site, while maintaining their restricted privileges everywhere else. However OGUR is broken in some important ways (mostly not its own fault as far as I can tell). Are there ways to accomplish this granularity of authoring access without using OGUR or a raft of other modules?
2. Features (Context, Spaces and Features modules) Are Features ready for prime-time? How to break up a given type of site into exportable features; best practices; etc.
