Sounds like a great idea, though Sept sounds busy - what with Drupalcon and DrupalCamp Belfast. I'd be interested in a day long event, but not if it clashes with the other two events obviously :)

I'm redesigning my class website from DotNetNuke to Drupal and would very much welcome a get-to-gether in Sept. Any help I can be, just let me know,

@ everyone - great! we'll do something casual, easy. if you want to show off a trick or two, it would be good if you can bring along your laptops. i'll organise a space (this is assuming i'm teaching at the IT in the autumn, still not sure yet!) unless john kelleher can organise it for us.

@ macloch - apparently bumpf means "bum fodder"... um... i'll be bringing you printed items, and what you do with it is up to you!

@ stella - i was thinking just a small evening meet-up, like you guys do in dublin, not a saturday event- for all the reasons you say.

i wonder when drupalcamp belfast is on?

I'd be more than happy to demo/describe the IT Sligo CompSoc Drupal site's integration with phpBB and LDAP. It's quite easy to do.

Getting excited about our own meet-up. We need to pick a date! I'd like to meet up before Belfast to get people excited about the Belfast meet-up. Also to report back!

I think we can get a space in the evening at the BIC (soon to be named Innovation Centre). I can check next week. Any other venues which might be good?

I'm planning a "Drupal Curious" workshop in Sligo within the next few weeks. Looking for a suitable venue, free wifi- can stay for hours and hours... Any recommendations welcome. The Clarion cafe doesn't open til 12, so it wouldn't really suit.

This would be for the initiate, covering basics of Drupal, best practices starting out.

I have 3 takers already, and I can handle 5 more.

I don't have the dates nailed down, but watch this space. I'll be asking people to commit to attending (if they sign up) and doing a little planning & prep beforehand. That will help me get an idea of what people want to learn to help design the workshop.

This is for people with no Drupal experience, but web development experience would be needed.

Did I mention it's free! Of course, I do take teacher-gifts of ribbons, old buttons, embroidery hoops, nice fabric, etc. :)
