We're changing the date of the TCDrupal meetup this month. Our hosts, Advantage Labs, will be in Munich participating in DrupalCon on the regular 4th Wednesday date making our venue unavailable. So, we'll be meeting the following week instead -- Wednesday August 29th 7-9PM.
For a topic, let's bring back a crowd favorite -- There's a Module for That (aka My Favorite Module). Do you have a module you've discovered lately -- or have always used -- that changes the way you do Drupal, makes things a whole lot easier or completely blows you away? Come share with the rest of us. No formal presentation required just a few words or a quick demo.
Looking for some inspiration in the meantime? I've been following Lullabot's Module Monday blog series -- http://www.lullabot.com/ideas/blogs (mostly by Jeff Eaton). And DrupalCamp Twin Cities 2012 keynoter Emma Jane Hogbin just started a 5-part email series on her fave modules. Sign up for her list on her site -- http://www.designtotheme.com/ -- to get in on that action.
Then come on the 29th and leave with a whole bunch of new things to try. Oh, and if you twist my arm, I'll be happy to share highlights from DrupalCon. Anyone else going?
See you on the 29th!
When: Wednesday August 29th 7-9PM.

Future Sessions
Talking about future sessions last night, I want to re-request a session about Git.
Duly noted
Absolutely. Understanding Git -- what it is and how to use it -- is a great topic. It could lead to "Git advanced tips" etc.
I'll check to see where Git fits into the Drupal Ladder. If it is prominent in the Ladder, as I suspect, perhaps we can get at a first look at Git via a Ladder session.
Thanks for the suggestion and for reminding us to follow up.

It would also fit right with the "how to deploy a patch" session we talked about (Tess?)
Drupal Ladder
For those who have not seen it. Here is a link to the Drupal Ladder.

The bottom 4 rungs are:

I THINK that we could probably bypass the very bottom rung, which brings us directly to GIT.
DRUSH is not on the ladder, but might be an interesting topic sometime.
