Mediacurrent is currently coordinating bus transportation from Orlando to Atlanta for Drupalcamp Atlanta on October 25. Projected cost for this ride to be as low as $70 if we can fill the bus and includes wifi. There's more information in the attachment; the key date at this point is September 28. We'd like to have a gauge of interest (and likely a deposit) by that date so we know what size bus to get.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing you on the bus!

I may be going as well.
Any Updates on the Bus?
Have you been able to get enough commitments to make the bus trip viable?
I would like to know if we need to look into alternate transportation.
Thanks

Hello James, Thanks for
Hello James,
Thanks for asking - there are 16 who have expressed an interest in the bus. We need 55 to keep the price point as low as possible and be at max capacity. In short, its not looking good, but the deadline to "sign-up" was this Friday.
The alternate idea would be to rent something like a church van, but not sure how the logistics would work.
Does anyone else have any thoughts if there were say 15-20 from the Orlando area that wanted to drive up to Atlanta? Keep in mind, because of prior commitments, there are 7 team members from Mediacurrent that will need to leave at 6am on Thursday, Oct. 25th (return on Sunday morning).
Cheers,
Dave

Maybe not an "express" bus?
I realize the idea is to get everyone up to Atlanta from Orlando but here's a thought. What if you made a couple--not a lot--of stops off I-95 to pick up more passengers en route? You'll need to make pit stops anyway. They could also be pick up/drop off spots. Just a suggestion.
DCA Express Bus Cancelled...
Hello,
I wanted to close the loop on the bus to Drupalcamp Atlanta - unfortunately, there was not enough interest for the pricing to be cost effective.
I think plan B would be seeing if anyone in the Orlando area wants to carpool.
I'd be glad to connect the folks who did express an interest in the bus.
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks Dave, A few of us have
Thanks Dave,
A few of us have been discussing leaving sometime on Friday - carpooling. Even renting a van was really pretty expensive unless it was completely filled with people - I looked into it and calculated the gas, just decided that my own car was more economical.

What's the latest update?
Hi there,
Was planning to carpool with a friend but something came up and he wont make it. Would be from Gainesville. Is the mediabus happening or....?
the bus didn't pan out
We have several groups of cars going up from different locations. I'm not sure if any are going by Gainesville so far.
I would guess most people are
I would guess most people are going up I-75. Maybe there could be a meetup spot to pick you up there? I am not familiar with Gainsville, so have no idea how far it would be to 75 for you.
Resolved!
Just found a solution ^_^
See you all in Atlanta
