It's been a while since the outstanding Drupalcamp Dublin 2012, so it's time for another Drupalcamp.

So we're going to have a mini-Drupalcamp in Westport, Co. Mayo, January 18th & 19th 2013.

The venue is Hotel Westport.

Accommodation on Friday at €39.00 Per Person Sharing and Saturday at €45.00 Per Person Sharing.
Single Room at €59.00 for Friday Night and E65.00 for Saturday Night.

Schedule

Friday 9:30 - Registration [volunteers].
Friday 10:00 - Open space facilitation [Heather]
Friday 10:30 - 1:30 Discussion
Friday 2:30 - 5:50 Discussion

Saturday 9:30 - 1:30 Drupal Ireland code sprint [Sile]
Saturday 9:30 - 1:30 Drupal Ladder [Heather]
Saturday 2:30 - 4:30 AGM

Dinner - Friday

The Helm - www.helm.ie at 6:30pm
Meet at hotel reception at 6:20pm

The format of this Drupalcamp will differ to previous Drupalcamps.

This is a no-frills event so that we can concentrate on delivering a great Drupalcamp later in 2013.
[We also hope to host an international Drupal event in 2013 - details in due course].

So there won't be catering provided, but the cost of the venue will be covered by sponsorship - if you want to help, just let me know.

There won't be a traditional line-up of presentations, but we'll use an open-space format to generate discussion groups.

Friday: Collaborative scheduling

Schedule is available at http://tinyurl.com/drupalwest

We'll use "Open Space Technology" to quickly (under 15 mins) plan an agenda of small group demos and discussions. With open space you start by gathering an ad-hoc list of topics everyone wants to talk about. Then, you plan a schedule around those topics where individuals can discuss, demo and solve problems together. This builds an agenda that suits everyone who shows up.

We did this previous at DrupalCamp Derry and it worked really well. Here's more details and an example agenda:
http://groups.drupal.org/node/185749

Saturday morning: We'll have a code-sprint working on the Drupal Ireland website.

Saturday morning: We'll have a Drupal Ladder sprint.

Part 1 - Learn Sprint - 40 mins - Set up at 9:30 - finish at 10:30.
http://drupalladder.org/learn-sprints
- Get set up with Git and Drupal 8
- Learn how to test patches and communicate on the issue queue
- What's happening with Drupal 8?
- Choose an initiative to learn about, we'll continue onto Part 2, the Issue sprint, and hopefully more will join us.

Part 2 - Issue Sprint - 3 hours - Should start at about 10:30 (or earlier if you like!)
http://drupalladder.org/issue-sprints
- Teams work on chosen initiatives and issues.
- Are you interested in a particular issue? Let's choose one ahead of time. We can talk about this on Friday.
- We'll get tasks from the initiative leaders
- Collaborate in small groups

Saturday afternoon: We'll also have the AGM of the Drupal Ireland association.

Really looking forward to this. If it's any consequence, the weekend of 26th Jan doesn't really suit me, but any other weekend is fine.

Sign me up to help out as well.

Hi BeeOnLion The Camp in

alanburke's picture

Hi BeeOnLion
The Camp in taking place on the Friday and Saturday,
Friday 18th, and Saturday 19th.

We don't have any sample agenda for the Friday - that will be decided by the participants during the opening phase of the open-space meeting.

On Saturday, we'll have a Drupal Ladder, and people can work on the Drupal Ireland sprint - don't worry if you're not a coder, or not experienced with Drupal.
There is plenty of work for everyone, and you'll learn plenty.
