Bristol Drupal Xmas meetup and meal

It's a bit early, but based on this thread and it getting close to christmas I thought this event should go up now

The plan is to reserve as many seats as we can at The Urban Wood at around 7.30 so people who can't come to the whole thing could still drop by for a pint either before or after.

I ate there recently at the main courses we £8-10

Please can you sign up to this event using the button. Only if you are pretty sure you can come though.

We'll get some hats... and we'll be looking forward to seeing a good selection of christmas jumpers!

i've made an booking for an amount of people i think will end up coming. but we can change up or down if needs be.

menu wise we can have a christmas menu. or we could agree a decent cut down menu to order on the night. burger/steak/fish/veggie kind of thing. (for the veggies, if there is only one option i will haggle in advance for it to be something good!)

i do like normal food. but also the xmas menu would be more festive. can those who have said they are coming let me know a preference and ill sort it

I'd vote for normal food to be honest, no need to begin the endless repetition of Christmas meals quite that early...

I would probably have to suggest going for a normal menu, as it gives people more choice if they are picky..

that said a festive menu is more, festive.. and it is the festive season.

So I suppose, please vote me down as "indifferent" as I'll just be delighted to be there, as usual! :)

Is everyone on the signups page still good to come?

We'll probably want to get there about 7.15 or so. We can have a drink if we are waiting for people to turn up. How about zero degrees for a few drinks first too? Lot's of people won't get out of work til 6 and that won't leave much time to go home first. It's a 1 minute walk between the two places.

sorry Joe and all, I have to cancel; mum going into back operation this week, so all work stuffed into mon-weds so I can be at hospital with her; will be back from doing my project managemer butt kicking in totnes late on wed for quick turnaround onto train to hospital that night, so going to have to love you and not see you... :(

maybe if you adorn it with something festive? i was hoping to buy a really gaudy santa/reindeer jumper but ended up with a pretty toned down one unfortunately

I was going to wear that exact same thing. How embarrassing it would be if we clashed!!

I will get the missus to grab me a gaudy christmas jumper at lunch today... maybe I can wear it OVER a chequered shirt. instant classic.

What a fantastic meal. The food at Urban Woods definitely gets my absolute recommendation. Especially seeing all those eggs balanced on burgers.

Nice seeing you everyone last night too... :) and Happy Christmas... as it's truly now upon us.

And massive thanks as well to the community, as I fixed my menu access callback problem this morning using fuzzy knowledge harvested last night.. ONCE AGAIN proving that getting smashed in the name of Drupal IS indeed a worthy past time!

the burgers were really good! tasted a bit smokey, fairly spherical, charred on the outside, pink in the middle. lovely! ... and nice to see everyone too..
