Sacramento meetup

2007-02-23 11:00 - 13:00 Etc/GMT-8 Feb 22, 2007 from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M PST. Meetup at Chili's Grill and Bar located at the corner of Howe and Arden.
We can chat about the upcoming OCMS - Drupalcon, who is going and who is not and other random Drupal things of people's interest. Jonathan of Firebright will be presenting some stuff they are considering for the Drupalcon at OSCMS summit next month. There is no set agenda other then what people are interested in chatting about.
Leave a comment if you are coming so we can estimate for seating.

I am probably the worst on locations. The Bakers Square restaurant on Fair Oaks and Howe would work for me as a starter suggestion. Other suggestions certainly welcome. Worst case, we can just meet at my house though I am in Elk Grove and we have at least one person in Roseville that may come and 2-3 in Davis. It would also mean I have to clean house which wouldn't kill me.

Bakers Square sounds fine. I also can offer my office for meeting. When I say office I mean a previously abandoned second floor of our building that I staked a claim to last fall. I have about 3000 sq ft up here and while I don't have carpeting or a ceiling, I turned half of the area into work space and the other half into an oversized lounge with a full refrigerator, couches, a conference area (sans table) and an antenna-less TV area (working on hooking a linux box into it for YouTube'ing). We call it the attic. We're located on Cirby Ave, just off the Riverside exit (between Antelope and Douglas) in South Roseville. Any meetings here I would be able to provide the grub and drinks (no alcohol though).
How about somewhere along the lines
of TGI Fridays, Chevys, El Torito, Hooters (just kidding), or something a little less family-ish than Bakers Square. Or even a brewery if it's more centrally located than the last one we met at.

I prefer Chili's over Chevy's myself and think there is one on Howe and Arden.
I was also trying to consider the background noise in some of the establishments as well.

I'd like to present to the SacDUG at our next meeting a presentation we're thinking about doing at OSCMS. Is there a chance we can do that at this meeting? It's a Drupal benchmark session I'd like to get some feedback on.
Any objections? Guys willing to spend 25 minutes going over it?

Well, I don't think this presentation will work well in a restaurant. It actually does involve a server rack (portable, but it's not something that will work at a dinner table).

Deadline to decide where this is happening?
I don't mean to rush you, but could you PLEASE decide where this is going to take place. We are watching the weather to see if we can even make from Reno. I don't want to get to Chili's only to find the meetup has been moved.
Also, if you do stick with Chili's is there someone local who'd volunteer to go a little early to get a table?

Hi all, I may come. I'm new to Drupal and new to the groups site. I'm a developer with the Sacramento Bee and I've been playing around with Drupal (www.scoopytube.org), but would like to get more involved. So where will the meeting actually be?

Hi Everyone, I live in Sacramento (near Sac State) but I didn't know there was a Sacramento Drupal group. I'll try to make it to this meetup. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to attend OCMS/Drupalcon. I'm a full-time student (in my last semester) and I don't think I can miss classes those days.
We're new and pretending we're organized, play along :D
There is a Saturday and Sunday session for hacking Drupal afterwards. :D Think about it.
