In an attempt to get some movement on the Drupal Magento project, I've queried the maintainers to see whether they're still active and have thus far gotten no response. As a result, I've asked the Drupal.org website maintainers to mark the project as unsupported -- there hasn't been any movement in the issue queue in what is approaching close to a year, the Drupal 6 version is really stale and a Drupal 7 version seems nowhere near completion. See: http://drupal.org/node/1848762
There's a huge amount of potential in this vector -- Magento's CMS tools are ultra-sucky, Drupal's are super great. The only open source CMS that has been reliably bridged to Magento seems to be WordPress, which, while an upgrade from Magento's CMS tools, is still really sucky.
I've been working on a series of tools the last while for an agency I'm doing outsource work for. I'm not really at liberty to contribute my project (Which ultimately doesn't do much more than pull some Magento functionality into Drupal and still uses Magento itself as the main commerce platform). Though I'm in discussions with my boss about possibly open sourcing my code, it's not really a part of this company's culture to open source code (At least at the moment) and thus I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm also way, way too busy to do my own clean room implementation after I leave here in a few weeks.
That all said -- if somebody wants to take up the reigns of this project, sketch out some workflow and the functionality needed (I'd honestly just stop trying to pull everything from Magento into Drupal -- the last attempt encouraged everything I hate about bridge software), I'd be happy to contribute expertise and code. Particularly with stickier bits -- session handling, for instance -- I'm happy to try and contribute what I've learned the last two or so months.
So... Anyone interested?

New group organizer
On that note -- it just occurred to me that this group's organizer is Maxime Topolov, who is/was one of magento.module's committers.
I haven't really been around this group long enough to know, but if he's as active here as he's been with the now-inactive module, he should probably be replaced by somebody more dedicated and willing to both promote the group and foster discussion within it...
Edit: Please see http://groups.drupal.org/node/278243

Project Status
Hi There !
Some clarifications. D6 version of Magento API was created during a real project, updated and enhanced during another client project.
With the amount of needed code I just cannot port to D7 this module without a client sponsoring. Unlike others modules, Magento / Drupal bridge needs a real project to be updated / upgraded / ported. Why ? Because it's related to real business problems and any new feature must be validated against real needs.
At Adyax, we're waiting for any new opportunity to port to D7. If there is any dude who wants to take the lead over the D7 version, I would be glad to support him and provide any infos / account accesses and so on.
Max.

Hi
Andrew i am the same guy from stackexchange who asked your help in this link here
After this hit a wall i was busy with some other projects. That s why i was not active in that thread.
But now with the support of you both(Topolov) i think we can re ignite this thread.
Since i am pretty much new to both Mage and Drupal I would like to know the things to initiate this plugin development
Thanks
Salim
@Maxime -- Hi! Great to hear
@Maxime -- Hi! Great to hear from you! I totally understand your need for a valid business case to develop a D7 version. Personally, every site I've done in the last 1.5 years is D7, which is why I'm pushing to get a D7 version rolling.
Related to this, are you wanting to continue managing the Magento group here? That's fine if so; I just hadn't seen much of any recent activity from you and had thought you'd finished with Drupal. That said, might I suggest getting a co-maintainer for the group to help facilitate discussion around the building and implementation of D7 solutions?
@salimmohd82 -- Apparently fizk is wanting to take over development of the module, which is great: he has contributed to a wide swath of other modules and seems to know his stuff. I don't know what he's planning, but hopefully he's wanting to do the D7 version in a collaborative manner and combining out efforts we can get a beta version rolled fairly quickly.

Fizk now Magento project maintainer
Just a quick update for those not following that issue -- fizk has agreed to take over ownership of the project and is now its maintainer. Yay for fizk!Edit: Fizk apparently reviewed Magento's license and disagrees with it, and is thus unwilling to take on the project. Therefore, the project is back to being totally unsupported.

I am willing to take over the responsibility,
But i don't know anything about how this whole stuff works i am feeling difficulty.
But i am always ready to take calls and do things to see a successful bridge between D7 and Mage 1.7
i am again requesting andrew to advise me if you can so that we can get this kick started
thanks

Guys...
Guys. As I explained Magento module is a complex, difficult to maintain module. It absolutely needs a real project to work on and real experts in both CMS (Magento and Drupal).
So, let's say : if any client wants having a D7/Magento 1.7 integration, just call us, we'll be VERY happy to implement it for you for a decent price :)
