Big up to the Belfast crew!
A fantastic weekend was had by all at Drupalcamp Belfast 2009.
Top notch venue, cracking presentations, lovely grub and coffee on tap.
What more could we ask for?
A big thank you to Stephen, Feargal, Stephen, Chris, Adam, Julie and all the others who put the event together.
Much respect to the sponsors who kept the whole event free [as in beer... well not free beer...but you know what I mean!]
We'll have the next Drupalcamp in about 6 months time, venue yet to be decided.
Hopefully we'll have some news on that within a few weeks.

Great event!
Yeah, awesome event guys! It was a fantastic weekend and I'm really looking forward to the next one. Major kudos to Stephen, Feargal, Adam, Chris and everyone else involved. Well done!
yes indeed
Thanks to everyone who organised it and to everyone who gave presentations. Ye made it look effortless, but everything ran smoothly, was relevant and still managed to be good craic at the same time. Fair play!
tremendous!
Such a great venue, and a very warm reception and hospitality. We really had the run of the place. So many places for conversation & exchange. A really ideal space.
Well done to the organising team. I hope the "newbies" felt welcomed. Addison's presentation was a big highlight for me. So glad she could make it.
There were some fancy cameras there. And video... and CodeMongrel took some podcasts. I'm keen to see the media.
Where are people sharing it?
Is #dcbelfast a good tag?
Belfast, Take a Bow.
Thanks to all the organisers and speakers and NICVA for the Belfast Drupal camp - great venue, informative talks, helpful surgery, good food, warm hospitality and a healthy dose of Belfast/Derry wit. Well done!
Yes Thanks
A great weekend. Great event, fantastic facilities provided by NICVA and lots and lots of Drupal information, Thanks to all involved.
A BIG thankyou to the Belfast Organisers
I was wondering would it be as good as Galway and although structured differently was actually excellent! Awsome! I particularly enjoyed Alan and Feargal's talks on Theming and learned allot. I just wish I hadn't had such a busy and sleepless week prior to coming to Belfast. I think I nearly nodded off at one stage but this had absolutely nothing to do with the presentations I assure you!
Anyway will look into whether or not IADT would be willing to host the next Drupal event. Just give me a few weeks to settle in as it's a part-time course and I'll have to take time out to approach the correct person in there.
Thanks again guys!
Hey, I was in IADT and worked
Hey,
I was in IADT and worked there for a year when I finished. They don't open on Sundays or late on Saturdays I don't think, unless that's changed.
Gary
Thanks all
Adam, Feargal, the two Steves and I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the first ever Belfast Drupalcamp. We really enjoyed the weekend and we're so glad you could all make it.
We are obviously flattered by all the nice comments, so please feel free to keep them coming :), but we want to make the next Belfast event even better so we would also like to hear any criticisms of the event, no matter how big or small. We promise not to bite.... hard ;)
We have also decided to meet up regularly to have a pint and chat about Drupal. We will be meeting on the last Thursday of every month starting on Thursday 29th October in the Duke of York @ 5:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend, even people who didn't attend Drupalcamp, the more the merrier.
Again, a big thanks to everyone who came, there wouldn't have been a camp without you!
Cheers,
Chris
P.S. We will be getting our Flicker account updated with pics from the event soon, so if you took any pictures and would like us to add them then email them to us at info@drupalcampireland.org
Great Introduction
As a complete newbie, I had a great day on the Saturday (couldn't attend on Sunday due to other commitments). Really found the intro by Fergal helpful. I really enjoyed the sessions in the afternoon as well, although I am sure I only took in about half of what was said, but it was great learning so much in such a sort time. I think it would have been good to have something between the intro by Fergal and module inputs in the afternoon as I found the learning curve steep! Venue and organisation was great. I'd like to say a big thank you to all that made it such a great day for me. (How about Derry for the next one? Maybe Magee Campus Uni of Ulster?)
Alastair
Derry?
Sounds great - If you organise it, we'll be there!
Two different people making initial enquiries to see whether they can secure a suitable venue, so that they can host it in their town.
But the more the merrier - let us know if you want to have a go and we can give you some pointers on where to start.
Later
Alan
What? no one has said
What? no one has said anything bad about the camp? well let me be the first... hmmm? thinking... nope nothing comes to mind.
Of course, like everyone else, i had a great time there and it was well worth the travel from Scotland to be with you all. Everything from the camp to going for drinks at the Duke was fun. So a massive thanks to everyone that made it happen and to share your Drupal knowledge.
So was it true that Natalie Portman was seen at The Duke? :-)
What a treat!
After struggling through the summer learning Drupal on my own, it was mind boggling to meet so many Drupal enthusiasts! Thank God I managed to get my wee kids minded so I could be there.
I was totally blown away by everyone's helpfulness and willingness to spend some time solving my probs. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Got my two major problems sorted:
- uploading the database when the upload size was limited by server
- getting video to display consistently with swftools, turned out it is already in the issue queue (would never have thought of looking there).
All the other stuff was also great as already mentioned....location, grub, sessions etc.
I was a bit overwhelmed at times at all I still have to learn, but definitely picked up lots of helpful pointers at the same time.
Great Event!
Thanks for all the effort that went into the event. It was superb! No criticisms come to mind at all. Keep up the good work!
