What is a CCK Widget?
The final user form (create content) for inputting data (site content) is created using widgets. The admin creates a content type or node (user form), by adding fields via CCK. The admin chooses what widget (field container) to use to collect that data (content). e.g. you want the user to put a number in the field so you select the integer/text widget. Each data type, and the way it can be entered is a widget.
I'm not sure if this is a correct explanation, I've asked over at the CCK group but haven't received a response so anyone has a comment, or feels this is still confusing please share

Webweaver, is there a place
Webweaver, is there a place we can "group test" these modules/uses? I thought I saw it in the drupal dojo, but, can't quite figure out how to participate there. It would seem to me that it would be much easier for us "newbies" to learn if we could "play together".
No, not for any module
No, not that I'm aware of. I have learned that it is a good idea to have a place to try stuff out. I do wish there was somewhere as well. I'm just not sure how they would handle that with so many people and so many different ways to configure Drupal it would be just about impossible.
What I believe she meant was if we needed an additional module to create the book we could add it.
Lets think about having a Drupal playground and how you could set something like that up.
How would you control what modules were being added? Some replace core modules. Maybe offerer some type of training session time? Who would host it?

I may be different,
may I never be indifferent.
