Local motifs?

dreadstar's picture

I noticed that a lot of cms and forum boards can easily be "themed" or change motifs. Has anyone done this for drupal? Maybe a simple token icon on the upper left and a background color changer. One for each local holidays like Christmas motif, Ninoy Aquino day, Independence day motif, etc. Just to add a little more pizzazz every now and then on my dull stock garland themed site ... 8-)

Advance apologies if this is a stupid or awkward question. I did several searches on the Drupal site and none came out relevant to my inquiry. I most probably did not know what proper keywords to plug in. All theme modules looked like overkills for this simple task since I did not want to change the drupal layout but simply wanted a simple way to add a "motif" or "skin" to my rather dull site.

For themes with a simple color / motif changer check this theme - http://drupal.org/project/blogbuzz
Here's the demo links - http://www.antsin.com/demo/blogbuzz/

Modules ( overkill ) that allow user to change themes:

I listed these cool theme changer modules here for the sake of other Pinoy Drupal user's - this was only for FPDUI ( For Pinoy Drupal Users Information ) purposes.

http://drupal.org/project/theme_hues - allow user to change theme colors and backgroud images
http://drupal.org/project/blogtheme - allow individual user to change his own profile and blog or page themes.
http://drupal.org/project/page_theme - allow you to assign theme to specific page
http://drupal.org/project/switchtheme - able or allow users to switch their theme.

Nice sir Danreb. However I

Nice sir Danreb. However I noticed in your BlogBuzz theme that it only supports 3 different color options only. What happens when I want to color it yellow for Ninoy Aquino Day or red/green for Christmas or black for Holloween and etc? Do I have to code them manually?

Im looking for a simple way for a non-technical hobbyist like me to be able to do these menu driven in the administration menu. Im quite clueless in doing CSS or any programming at all.

that's cool! will check those
