Tonight, tonight, tonight...
Besides being an atrociously awful Genesis pop song, it's the date for the next TC Drupal Users Group Meeting. At last month's meeting, the attendees voted to move the meeting up a week and combine it with the Ubercart Users Group meeting (3rd Wednesday regular meeting) since the regular date would be the night before Thanksgiving. What we did not do was let everyone know with much notice. Apologies.
This is your notice! Please come. Wylbur has a plan for organizing the meeting. It will be exciting, we're sure. Come if you are interested, at any level, in Drupal or Ubercart or both.

Park on the street. If you arrive after 7PM, come to the parking lot around back and knock on the conference room door -- we'll see you and let you in.

Live meeting?
Have there been any thoughts of setting up something like livemeeting to remotely participate? Or does this defeat the purpose of getting together? Personally, I cannot make it in the evenings, but I would like to participate.
Thanks,
Nick
Good suggestion
In fact, this came up during our last meeting. The idea of "canning"-- either via videotaping or screen capture -- any official presentation or working session that is part of a meeting was brought up as a means of making the content more learning accessible via an online archive. It would be a natural extension of this idea to find a way to have the presentation portion of the meetings be streamed live via an online meeting service.
Let's open this up for discussion and for suggestions on appropriate technological options for doing this.
That said, I think the main reason for these get-togethers is to meet others, network, forge relationships. Much of the meeting time is devoted to this and would be difficult to replicate online.

Probably won't be able to
Probably won't be able to swing a meeting on such short notice! :( Is there a twitter feed?
I'm sure we can convince some
I'm sure we can convince some Twitterers in the group to oblige. How about using #tcdug? I'll broadcast this to the group tonight and have all willing Twitterers tweet at will about the proceedings.
Hope to see you next time in person -- haven't seen you since Pubradiocamp! Would you be willing to give a few minutes at an upcoming meeting to report on how your Drupal training event went? I'll make sure there is more advanced notice...
