Is there a trick to using overriding Context for the Frontpage?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Each time I attempt to override the settings for the Frontpage using Context I get a blank front page. I can override most every other page, so far, except for that one.

Is there some trick to adding a block to the Frontpage?

Thanks,
Joe

problem is with the <front> path

Every time you edit the frontpage context, make sure to edit the path. Because of using FCKEditor, <front> will always be re-written as <p><front></front></p> which will cause frontpage to go blank.

Edit the path option and view it in text-only mode of FCKeditor, then fix the above code to just <front>. Then save it. There you go..

That worked!

hello, my name is nicole, i'm from germany, i'm absolutely new at drupal, at openpublish and in this community.... :-)
now, i don't know how to post my question, so i tried this way....
i've installed openpublish, created an article and wanted to promote it on frontpage - didn't work, empty content area... :-(

nicci, every Article content type you create goes to front page in a standard op install. Check your workflow (when you create or edit your article) if this article is published.

op front page is not as any other standard drupal installation. Fornt page is a set of "Views" content provided by "Context". I think, you should be comfortable enough with these two modules (Views and Context) to work with op.

(*op=openpublish)

hi fanis, first thank you for

hi fanis, first thank you for your answer!
i will tell you, what i did: i have installed op, three times. the first one (version openpublish-2-1.1-build114.tar), all did well, then suddenly there where a lot of errors, so i deleted op complete via ftp and installed new (openpublish-2.3-build441.tar). then, there was the problem, that, there were no more workflow by op (created, ready for editing, edited....), and no context. i wrote an article without making any changing on op, i checked the buttons "published" and "on frontpage", publish immadiatly, but it was not published on front. so i made an workflow by myself and tried again - nothing :-( so i deleted op again complete and installed again (same version). again, there is no workflow from op itself and the context is empty too, and no article is on frontpage :-( i read, it may be a problem with the ckeditor, that he would change the path from "front" to "front /front" (of course the right code writing, but i think, it wouldn't be shown here). but i don' know, where ckeditor wrights this code.... unfortunatly, i am a absolute beginner with cms at all and with drupal and op.
thank you in forward and best regards, nicci
