Good Day to All,
Is it possible to publish somewhere else besides the front page?
For example. I want to creates a content type site announcements which will post such information as scheduled maintenance, etc.and want these contest to be posted not in the front page but in a section called Site Announcements. Is this possible?
Again any info is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Yes, as I understand
Yes, as much as I get your problem. When you post, there is a "Publishing options" feature set where you can toggle if your page is to be promoted at the front or not. If you look closely at the book (core-optional) module, and arrange your pages in a hierarchical book-like structure, you can generate your own section list of pages. Arranging them by taxonomy lists and bringing the taxonomy item onto a menu item is also a good idea.
I guess you'd also get better responses from your queries if you post them on the Drupal support forums. Not that I'm being rude here, but I thought this area - "Philippines Drupal Group" - would be better used for bringing together Filipino Drupalites together "associatively" and not for Drupal-use support issues. Anyways, that's my opinion only and I don't want to be rude or anything.
I bid everyone well.

Thank you
Thank you very much for your suggestion loloyd and I apologize to all for posting my Drupal-use support issues here and not at the forum level. I was just asking for input or suggestions on how to accomplish such thing being that everyone in this group is more drupal knowledgeable than I am.
I didn't know that the Philippines Drupal Group is to bringing together Filipino Drupalites together "associatively". Sorry I don't know what that means (I am not being sarcastic).
I dont' see you being rude and I take no offense. You are just expressing your opinion, which all are entitled to.
I will refrain from posting Drupal-use support issues from now on.
Again, I apologize sincerely to all.
Thank you,
Mark
no need to apologize
mark,
no need to apologize. you're still free to post support questions here. but like loloyd's suggestion, posting those same questions in drupal.org support forums will get better and faster replies.
cheers!
Oops
You know what, looking back, I may have spoken to soon with my sentiment above. If support issues are what's needed to bring Filipino Drupalites together, then what you were doing may actually contribute in binding us all. "If I miss the small elements in the big picture, I wouldn't be able to appreciate the image at all." Sorry.
Am I fickle or what? I realize that I could be doing the same thing eventually. Like right now for instance, I really need to master my PHP, CCK and Contemplate. Where's the best place in the internet do you think I can quickly but robustly hone my PHP skills? PHP.net is a good start, I know, but I guess it's not geared towards "quick-and-robust" learning at the same time. Chee :-D

one more thing...
.. .. I also deleted my previous drupal-use issue so that future members will not do what I have done...
