Theme settings
Hi nas,
I have an Acquia Marina subtheme on my site, where I removed author/date on pages. It is in theme settings - under /admin/build/themes/settings/, click on the individual theme or subtheme you're configuring. Scroll down to Theme-specific settings and you should find Node settings listed, expand it, and set the default and any custom settings for different content types.
Good luck,
Jennifer
Yep, Jennifer's right. But in
Yep, Jennifer's right. But in addition to theme specific settings, you can also go to the Global Settings. There, on the right, you will see a section called "Display Post Information On". Under that, it will list your content types. You can uncheck all if you don't want any info being posted.
Chris
Right!
Thanks for adding that, Chris. I thought the original question was how to just turn off the "by (user)" but leave the "on (date)". I think if you want to still display the date, you would need to do that in the theme specific settings. Your point is well taken though. There is always (it seems) more than one way!

Yep, totally right-on,
Yep, totally right-on, Jennifer! And yeah, there does always seem to be more than one way to accomplish something with Drupal. I guess that's one reason why I fell in love with it!
Now he can't miss... getting both mine and your excellent advice :-)
Take care!

thank you guys,
the global setting has worked for me.
as for the theme specific setting, I don't see the the authoring name and date selection. i see it in other themes but not in fusion and Acquia Marina.
on some drupal forums people suggested it should be done in the theme template or page.php.
anyway many thanks again

acquia marina
Hmm, it's in Node settings on my sub-theme of Acquia Marina. You do have to scroll down a bit and expand the area to get to the specific settings for date and author. It's easy to miss (I did at first). Sounds like you solved your problem via global settings, though!

This has been confusing me
This has been confusing me for a long time -- I can't find my "Node" settings anywhere in Acquia Marina or Fusion. I can only find them in "Global." I'm using Acquia Marina v6.x-3.0-alpha1 and Fusion Core v6.x-1.0-beta4
. Does that make a difference?
I've been trying (I'm ashamed to say) for about three hours to get the "Submitted by" info to appear and not appear on certain node types.
I found it in the Global settings, but they do not seem to have any effect. I even downloaded and installed the "Submitted by" module but it has no effect either.
This really shouldn't be that hard -- I know it's me. Help?
I know this is an old thread
I know this is an old thread but ditto - just working on my first acquia site and unlike our others, when i use admin/build/themes/settings/global i get no result, ie even though 'display post information on' is 'off' for all content types, the 'submitted by xxx on xxx' continues to show on Content Types.
I have checked on Content Types but see no settings there - though I did not expect to.
Is this something peculiar to Acquia?

Never ending post (sorry)
Is this still found in the same place for Drupal 7? I can't seem to locate the settings and would like 'submitted by' and 'date' to be removed on anything other than blog posts (which I would just rather use than normal content to give some of my pages more of a permanent look).
Drupal 7 Post Info Change
Found it:
The "Display post information" options have been moved from the theme settings (where no one on earth ever thinks to look) to the content type settings (where they do).
