That's debatable...i hope

Alex Andrascu - Mon, 2010-01-18 07:56

If you expect a high number of foreign guests (>70%) it will start making sense. Otherwise you'll end up speaking yourself in english for no reason. I'm ok with english myself but if it's going to be a so long awaited Romanian's Drupalcamp i do expect at least some sessions in Romanian.

O veste super tare !

andrezyk - Mon, 2010-01-18 08:11

Ma bucur ca va fi un DrupalCamp si la noi! Se stie ce sesiuni vor fi?

Thank you for your support

Hey,
I am so happy we can generate this wave of activity.
I hope this will be able to glue the Romanian Drupal comunity wich can be much more stronger than it is now.
As for the English or Romanian tracks, I would personally prefer English as a main event langauge. Since this will be promoted as a international event, and many of the speakers will be from outside of Romania, we should respect each other by speaking the language the majority of participants understand.

bertboerland's picture
bertboerland - Mon, 2010-01-18 12:13

but cross posting to this many groups for a "local" event is kind of spammy

I'm also tired of deleting these messages

please stop sending them to us all

1) if you mean the mail message, that is g.d.o sending them to threats you have been active in, visit your profile and change

2) this is the first time I get a complaint about spamming when warning for x posts :-)

3) in alle the countries / groups that are listed in this node, every couple of weeks a drupal camp is being organised. This is a good thing, but imagine that all these countries / groups post to all these countries and groups... and you think getting one mail is irritating ? :-)

4) the odds that someone from the netherlands, sweden or the UK will come to a local Romanian drupalcamp are nill

nb: this was x posted to Drupal Event Organization · Denmark · Köln & Bonn · Rhein-Neckar-Kreis · Catalan · München · Germany · Czech Republic · Hellas · Poland · United Kingdom · The Netherlands / Nederland · Sweden · Russia · Norway · France · Portugal · Italy · Turkey · Israel · Paths · Spain · Austria · Lithuanian Drupal translation · Estonia · Switzerland · Rhein-Main-Gebiet · Polish Drupal Translators · Ukraine · Belgium · Romania · Slovakia · Belarus · Wales, UK · Stuttgart and Baden-Württemberg (BW) · DrupalCampUK · Cyprus · London, Ontario · European Regional DrupalCon Organizers · Greece · Serbia · Bulgaria · Sevilla · Lithuania · Rostock · Europe · Düsseldorf · Drupalcamps Europe [international & english] · Slovenia · Suisse Romande (Switzerland Romandy)

Well that would be nice to

omissis's picture
omissis - Mon, 2010-01-18 15:07

Well that would be nice to have some english talks, but if I can give you a suggestion, you should keep some in your language if you don't want to make romanian people disappointed(unless you are confident that having all the talks in english is something really appreciated, but being that a local event I wouldn't be so sure about that).

Cheers

I nod and agree with you :)

Alex Andrascu - Mon, 2010-01-18 15:23

Anyhow ...in the end let the language be the last issue and get us a nice, fun and interesting DrupalCon so we can start pop up some teams and challanges. And if we get guests from anywhere i can bet that will know how to treat and speak with :) I'm pretty good at scratching ideograms on walls.

How long it will take

Alex Andrascu - Tue, 2010-01-19 19:44

How much shall we wait untill the event site will be online ? When are you going to announce the date, the session and the rest of it ?

Date, site, sessions...

claudiu.cristea's picture
claudiu.cristea - Wed, 2010-01-20 16:01

The date is published in the post: June 5-6, 2010

We hope to go live with the site in 2 weeks.

Sessions? We plan to open the sessions proposals after the middle of February. This mean that we will have 3 months and half for receiving session proposals and finally fix the schedule.

Dates

lacisoft - Wed, 2010-01-20 15:43

I guess you should clarify the date of the event. In the first post you say : 2010-06-05 (All day) - 2010-06-06 (All day) Europe/Bucharest. This is June. In the last post you say July ?

Thanks!
