I need a simple method to allow online users to subscribe to our PRINT newspaper (not online). Basically, allowing them to subscribe to the 7-day or weekend subscriptions and letting them pay for the subscription they have chosen using Paypal.
I have looked at Ubercart and the Ecommerce modules but can't tell which would do the job best and in the easiest fashion. I don't need the user to go to a cart. Once they make their choice, they just need to complete the Paypal payment.
It would just need to be a page with information, subscription rates and a means to make payment.
Thank you for your help.

Ubercart - Features
Ubercart provides a whole bunch of features! Say today you are offering subscription and later you want to offer a coupon on your print that gives a discount for Subscription... You can just get creative with your promotions using Ubercart.
Highlights of Ubercart:
Ready Paypal integrations
Bundles and Promotions
Coupons
Event registration
Physical products to various locations
Video downloads (File downloads)
In your case you may have to look at UC_nodecheckout + autonodetitle with Ubercart: Allows you to capture some information which is a node along with the checkout process!

You probably don't need a cart of any kind in Drupal for this. Since you your visitors are only going to purchase one thing (or another), you can simply put Paypal buttons on your site and process the subscriptions in one step.
simple paypal or a module
I agree with 'highermath' as if there's isn't any deep integration required then just add a text field to your (product) nodes and enter in the subscription button code from Paypal. If you have more than a dozen products, then looking at an one of the E-commerce modules makes sense.

My site uses the lm_paypal module for this. We currently have two subscriptions, premium membership and 30-day archive access.
I just configured 2 separate subscriptions in lm_paypal and I display them using panels on my subscription page.
When someone purchases a premium membership, for example, they are promoted to the Premium role, and they are granted access to all the premium benefits. Each month their subscription fee is handled by Paypal.
In the future we may look at migrating the whole works to Ubercart, but at this time, I can't see the need for it.

I've been unable to get the lm-paypal module (subscriptions) to work with the paypal sandbox. Did you have to do anything out of the ordinary to get it to function?
moneyscripts membership suite
We use a commercial product that interfaces with Drupal for this. It is pretty low cost and is really easy to use. Just Google for "Moneyscripts Membership Suite"
We just needed an easy to implement and maintain solution for collecting subscription payments online and this does just that and nothing else. Can't recommend it enough.
