Our goal: Building a Drupal Austria Website (Some sort of Drupal marketplace and community for Drupal sitebuilders, coders and users in Austria).

Last meetup we had the idea to build this website together in form of a small series of workshops. Everybody who is interested is invited to help. As we go through every single part of a typical sitebuilding workflow the workshop might also provide a huge learning potential. But we want to limit the number of attendees to max. 10 people, so a signup is required.

On Mar, 5th we are going to start with fixing the concept, doing some mockups and design considerations. We also want to discuss the information architecture and suitable Drupal modules.

twitter aggregation
this could be twitter feeds of all registered users or just a single twitter list like http://twitter.com/crizzirc/drupalat

site index
do you know some sort of cool reference implementation to this?
would be nice to see screenshots, short description, tags and some kind of google-ranking included

we could play around quickly setting up a managing news site to aggregate some feeds and filter/visualize austria-related content

Twitter aggregation is a must have, yes. As the hashtag #drupalat doesn't get used very much a list would be an option...

I don't know if we need a full siteindex (of Austrian Drupal sites, do I understand this right?). A major part of the page will be projects anyhow, as references for members. Maybe a WIKI page for Austrian websites built with Drupal is an idea.

Aggregating stuff will be very important also. We thought about some relevant blogs, groups.drupal.org/austria of course and maybe some stuff from drupalcenter.de. Any other sources?

What we still have to figure out is how we handle events and registrations. I'm sure that we have some frequent Austrian Drupal events in future (meetups, workshops, trainings), so a calendar is a must have.

Do we need Facebook connect? I think this would be nice to have also...
