List of Patched Modules in OpenPublish

OpenPublish is a complex open-source distribution that includes a large number of contributed Drupal modules. Some of them were created specifically for OpenPublish, by OpenPublish authors, others are created independently and are being maintained by developers in the community.

Occasionally, OpenPublish developers find bugs or compatibility issues in third-party modules. To provide a stable and reliable distribution to OpenPublish users, we have to fix these bugs ourselves. We always post the fixes back to the original maintainers but accepting the changes usually takes time and does not happen nearly fast enough. So there's often a number of modules, in OP, that are patched. These modules should not be updated outside of a new OpenPublish release, because you will overwrite a patch and damage the distribution.

Following is a list of patched modules corresponding to each version of OpenPublish:

OpenPublish 2.2.x

Admin
Features (not patched but versions post-beta8 have significant API changes which require re-export of almost all exported features and thorough testing. Update coming in OP 2.3)
Context (patch accepted but upgrade awaiting Features update to not break exported features).
Acquia Search
CKeditor
NodeRelationships
ModalFrame (not patched but you should use their own dev release, until "stable" one is fixed).
RDF
FeedAPI Mapper (not patched but you should use their own dev release, since "stable" is very, very old).
CMF (not patched but you should use their own dev release, until "stable" one is fixed).

OpenPublish 2.1.x

I guess I was a little trigger happy with drush. I got excited about the ability to update all modules with one command. Lesson learned. Thank goodness for backups.

Ckeditor or FckEditor

Does OP use CKeditor or FCKEditor? I see only fckeditor in the /site/all/modules/ folder . I don't use it though.

I've very excited about the prospect of OP2.0 having a much-improved theme architecture. Is there any date we can expect to see 2.0 released -- or some previews of what's in store, theme-wise?

Just spent the day setting it up and updated the modules before reading this. Can I go back and reinstall those modules, or do I need to start over? Thanks.

Context module security update

I've been doing updates when they're not on patched-modules list (http://groups.drupal.org/node/60313), but now I notice that Context module has a security update. I don't see any mention of it here... I'm leaving it as-is as per instructions here, but just want to confirm that I should wait for orders from the OP Mothership regarding an update of modules listed on this page (http://groups.drupal.org/node/60313). Thanks...

Are there still many contributed modules with this Drupal 7 distribution that are patched? If so, do you warn against manually upgrading drupal core and the following contributed modules that have more recent versions available, some including security updates?

I just wanted to double check, as no errors were reported when I did a test upgrade. But the test install is empty of content, so might be missing something. Thanks for what looks to be a great distribution.
