There was also someone who discussed FOSS for daily use, Michael Cole (I hope I got that right) shared his experience with different apps he is using, which are mainly under KDE and the benefits it brings. Very informative.
A discussion on Mozilla coding also transpired as well as a talk on Ruby on Rails [too geeky for me :-)]. I shared something about Drupal and its features to an audience of around 40 people of various background. Also shared how to do a basic install of Drupal 5.2 using localhost. But the time was really to short (60 + minutes) to get dirty with Drupal.
I met Dino Manrique who introduced me to the Drupal Philippine group. We discussed some of our past projects and to my surprise, he was able to contribute a module to Drupal (I'm not worthy Dino) named Flexilist. We discussed theming in Drupal and how html, php and css makes the Drupal platform very flexible.
I got me a free shirt (woohoo), CD's and stickers, thanks again to Rick of CPU. I was unlucky not to win any of the 5 laptop bags they gave away. Thanks to Q-linux for the giveaways of bags, mouse and mugs.
