Hi guys, I'm now in Sunnyvale, and feelin dizzy. Shared a shuttle ride from the airport to our hotel. Tomorrow na ang Summit and I can't wait to see Googleplex and meet the other SoC'ers.

Day Zero - Dinner
About 60 participants congregated at Wild Palms Hotel in Sunnyvale today (Oct 5). Leslie Hawthorn (LH) showed up but bailed out of the dinner. Finally met Angie, Sime and Rok. Blogged about it here.

GSoC Mentors Summit 2007
Was able to get some time to bond with the Drupal developers: Angie Byron, Simon Hobbs, and Rok Zlender. Told Angie and Sime how the Drupal PH community is growing and how it grew by leaps and bounds after the 1st Meet Up :)
Learned a lot from this summit. Not just about how to make SoC better, but also some methods to make an organization/company better. Plus a lot of good insights on the Google work environment, based on what I saw inside (the limited things they allowed us to see).
I'll share these insights and stories in our 2nd Meet Up, so let's sked it na!

Having problems opening gmail from my current hotel.
Here's another update. Angela Byron, former GSoC student extraordinaire and now a GSoC mentor was invited by Google to speak about Drupal in the Google Tech Talk series! All I can say is, WOW!

Ey Benc,
Wow. Nakakainggit ka nga :) would have loved to meet people from Google. just read about Paul Buchheit in the book Founders at Work and his story about the creation of Gmail is just amazing. Together with the adoption of the "no evil" rule, it would have been nice to take a peek at an organization that discourages "assholes" from the work place hehe.
