Ok... strange question but is there a dedicated group for the OG Groups Module or is that just kind of part of this main group for all questions and such?

For instance I have a project for 1400 subgroups which are in 450 categories.
Will Groups tumble under that subgroup load?
what modules are necessary for subgroups? There seems to be several competing modules. Which modules play well together?
What do you suggest for creating group pages?
Story, page etc.
How about theming.. what did you do to get the pictures on the posts?

no group
there is no group for OG. I prefer to concentrate its conversation in the issue tracker at drupal.org.
i have never used subgroups.
group pages can be any node type. it makes no difference to drupal or og. if you need additional fields on your node type, use CCK ... there is a sliver of info about OG themeing in the README.

Then you are not interested in someone starting a group just for the purpose of general usage questions on the OG Group Module?
General questions, tricks, tips, etc and usage for each users specific purpose should be submitted in the issue tracker? I was going to volunteer in setting up such a group but sounds like you would not want that done?

An OG group is greatly needed. Not everything is an issue.
The use of organic groups has been steadily increasing in the past years. But, it's very hard to find good documentation. An 'Organic groups' group is needed for general discussions, in the same way as 'CCK' and 'Views' groups exists. So let's open it! Some people prefer the group format, and find it easier to document things, discuss general issues and give tips in that format.
I've filled a request to open such a group - please tread it.
