Any Drupal users in Bloomington, Champaign, Springfield, or Peoria Illinois are invited to a meeting in Bloomington on Thursday the 29th of November at the Bank of Illinois community room.

I just scored a coup at got the use of the brand new Bank of Illinois community room in Normal. It's on the top floor of the bank with an awesome view of the city. We'll have free wifi and a computer projector available.

Now that we have a projector, we could actually do a program, so I'll do an overview of the changes coming in CCK 6.x.

Update!! Jim Shady and the Chicago Tech Cooperative have offered to supply pizza and pop for the meeting, so please post something here if you're planning on coming (even if you're not sure), so we have a rough idea of how much to get. Thanks Jim!

I'll be there, though it'll probably be closer to 18:30 before I can get there. I'm happy to bring a snack or beverage to share, if it'll help. Alternatively, since this started out happening at Panera, we could check out their catering options.

I would also like to come. I will be traveling from Galesburg, IL. Is the date and time firmed up yet?

The date and place are firm.

KarenS@drupal.org - Wed, 2007-11-14 00:33

The date and place are firm. Even though I posted this as 6:00 to 8:00, we have the room from 5:30 to 8:30, so we can move the start time around a bit if it works better for others.

Refreshments

JimShady - Wed, 2007-11-14 17:24

I probably won't be able to attend due to a previous commitment, but our company will gladly supply pizza and soda for the meet-up. We'll likely be sending at least one person down from Chicago to attend. Karen, I sent you an email about that earlier today, so we can coordinate.

Thanks!

The Program

KarenS@drupal.org - Wed, 2007-11-21 01:46

Crell emailed me to ask if this is going to be the same as the CCK 6.x presentation from Barcelona and it is not. In Barcelona we didn't have working code to show people and we now have a mostly-functional D6 version. I'll be doing a demo of CCK on D6 (partly an intro to D6 and partly to the D6 version of CCK), complete with nice new features like AHAH add more buttons for multiple values.

CDMUG is looking fwd to offering any help we can to keep the Central Illinois MUG in good spirits, see you there. Tip: the week of the event is the best time to promote the MUG - post MUG details on classified sites, local community sites, tech sites, event sites, etc. where possible. We always noticed a RSVP surge the week of the MUG - Even though we promote the event all month long.

Great!

Glad for any help or support :) I probably did a poor job of promoting this, I wasn't really sure where to start.

I'll be able to make it after all

I didn't think I'd be able to make it, but I will actually be able to attend tomorrow evening and I'm looking forward to meeting you all and learning about the great new things coming in CCK 6!
