PH Drupalist please come

rpfilomeno's picture

Hi Guys, I was invited by Ruben to joing this group during the PH Google TechTalk. I've been using and developing on Drupal for 3 years now and I always felt the only one worshiping Drupal here in PH. Hehe.

Please check out the PHP Everywhere Conference where I will attempt to install scratch and create a new web application using Drupal in 10 minutes!

Welcome to the PH Drupal Group!!!

Mabuhay rpfilomeno!

It's very nice to know na dumadami ang bilang natin. Just like you I'm also new to the group.

Teka, 10 minutes ba kamo? Kaya ko in 3 minutes tops. (dare daw ba...)

marc.robinsone

Hmmm... I think I recognize you, Roger

loloyd's picture

You must be Roger from IT_Specialist@yahoogroups.com 'no? Your name looks familiar. It's nice to see we're going through the same groups. Welcome to wonderful world of the PhDrUG.

Wrt to the 10 minutes-3 minutes contest, I can name that tune in 1 note.

Only local images are allowed.

Sablay yun 10min demo

rpfilomeno's picture

Sumablay ako sa demo. Wahaha.

Had a problem with Xampp at the last minute plus the Hotel net is down. LOL

Ill stick to video demos for conferences O_o

Loloy! Its-a-smol-world-after-all :D

rpfilomeno's picture

Waa Loloy, nice to see you here ^_^ Its da same me.

RTFM nalaaaaang." LOL

fighting spirit

marcrobinsone's picture

Yakang-yaka. Good luck sa presentation.

Event Fees

rpfilomeno's picture

Since its a big event (in Crowne Regency Hotel) there is a fee around 1000 pesos I think, you can check out the posts at http://www.phpugph.com/talk/index.php/topic,3009.0.html

But there is a weekly (every Saturdays) Technical Meeting at Ortigas which is free! Sadly I haven't attended one yet because of my work schedule. Hopefully by next year I have more free time to talk about Drupal, it would be nice to have a series of tech sessions too since most of our members are web developers and haven't tried Drupal yet. Like Loloy said, with Drupal he can name the tune in one note, every web development time would be cut by more than 80% off using it.

May pupunta kaya from the group?

marcrobinsone's picture

BTW, http://www.phpugph.com/talk/index.php/topic,3009.0.html requires login.

More reason why we advocate Drupal

rpfilomeno's picture

Yep, the group uses a forum app and that's why I'm promoting Drupal on the group. The ACL feature should be very useful.

Re: PHP Dev Summit

jpabellon's picture

Hi Marc

Im going to the PHP Dev Summit (I registered--pero di ko pa nakuha confirmation email). Anyone else who want to meet there (may bayad na Php 1000)?

Sana regular yung sharing ng experiences with Drupal. Learned a lot the last time around. I can always volunteer our office or we can just meet informally sa mga kainan/inuman.

Salamat!

+1

I'd also be interested to see ITG's best practices on Drupal.

Can't attend the PHP Dev Summit though.

Only local images are allowed.

Mukhang masarap umattend

marcrobinsone's picture

Mukhang ngang maganda yung event.

Salamuch,

Regular meetup

If there is a place who is willing to let us hold tech talks for free, Im in!

Also I'll ask PHPUGPH when is their next schedule of the tech talks (they have a free place to use at OffShoring Inc office in Ortigas) so I could invite you guys to promote Drupal. The talk I gave during the PHP Conference didn't cover the details but it got their interest when I said one of the key goals that Drupal can address is eliminate the programmer. LOL

Plano namin pumunta :) 3

Hi guys,

Yesterday we successfully held our first ever conference for PHP
developers, you maybe interested to check out the presentations slides
here[1] as soon as the presenters uploads them.

I also released under GPL my second module for Drupal 5.x in
preparation for SoC called Twitterfeeds[2].

Btw I'm looking for a co-maintainer for GoogleAuthApps 5.x[3] and Twitterfeeds 5.x[2]

Thanks.

roger,

Cheers.

Welcome!

rpfilomeno's picture

Dude,

Thanks for the interest. Maybe we can do an intro to module programming on one of the monthly tech meets (kelan nga ba naka schedule?). I think yung best is try installing Drupal first and play around with creating pages, blog posts and forums.

Then i can teach you CCK and Views, Themes, then Module programming with hooks.
