The next Sacramento DUG meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 at the Hoppy Brewing Company from 6:30pm-9:00pm.
This meeting will be all about Drupal 7.
In preparation for this meeting, I'd like to organize a few people to prepare lightning talks (or maybe even something a little longer) about some aspect of Drupal 7. If you don't know anything about Drupal 7, then this is the perfect opportunity for you to look up some cool little D7 improvement and share it with the group. There's far too much here for any one person to present (unless Dries or Webchick was planning to attend, which I doubt) so let's try to distribute the load.

- Admin theme
- Theming changes
- FormAPI changes
- UX improvements
- Token in core
- Users with profile/fields

Alright, Alright...
Ben has goaded me into doing a lightning talk, and seeing as he's my ride, I should listen. Choose a topic for me before Wednesday and I should be able to ramble non-nonsensically about it for a good 30 minutes. At least a full hour if beer is involved. I'll even throw in my "Panels in D7 at launch" diatribe, easily condensed to "Ain't gonna happen"... Not that you savvy folk ever use panels mind you ;)
Choose your own topic
Super cool that you're willing to talk about Drupal 7! If there's something you think you have some experience with, please talk about it. Several things, if you want. I'm mostly interested in just getting some information out there about what Drupal 7 is going to bring us.
Obviously, the "Fields in Core" is going to be a big deal for people. If you're familiar with that, that's probably a good place to start. Other than that, I'm particularly interested in the new database layer.
If you've been playing with D7 lately, what do you think is some of the nicest new stuff you've come across?

Fields in core, general improvements and the DB layer. I can probably even show off one of my beta sites I'm working on. It's not much at the moment, but the module load decrease for the same work in D6 is significant. Of course, I also have my broken G1 android phone running Debian and -hosting- D7 using sqlite. Uber nerdy. Still wondering what the practical use might be
