Ubercart credit card processing for Ireland

frost's picture

I've got several Ubercart sites using Paypal as their sole means of taking CC's. Now I'm doing one for a retailer who already has a CC/Laser machine and I'm wondering are there modules to connect Ubercart with any of the Irish credit card/laser processing companies, or does anyone have any experience with CC & Laser processing in Ireland with Ubercart I'd really appreciate a few pointers.
Thanks
Mike

There is a module that connects with RealEx: http://drupal.org/project/uc_realex I haven't used it myself, but I hear good things.

Try ubercart realex:

Try ubercart realex: http://drupal.org/project/uc_realex

Works well using redirect method, Realex is an Irish company and their rates are very competitive for small businesses. It can be fully integrated into your site so most users will not even be aware they are being redirected to a different site.

Hi all,
As well as the redirect method, the remote method is now included, and working fine.

remote method

hi alan
i've finally gotten around to setting this up (had to upgrade the customer's complex drupal 5 site to 6 first!).
i've got my realex test account working with my customer site using redirect, with an issue outstanding about redirecting back to the right place when the trans is done but i think thats a matter of telling realex the correct url which i've done so we'll see if that sorts it.

anyway, i'd like to see how it works using the remote method, you mention on the uc_realex page that it isn't in the usual code branch but i wasnt clear how to get it - is it the dev branch of ubercart?

maybe obvious but just so i'm sure, i presume if i'm remoting i need the customer site to have an SSL cert to protect the card numbers as they are being transmitted

thanks

mike

Hi Mike 1. yes, If you're

Hi Mike
1. yes, If you're using Realex remote, you need SSL to take the credit card details.
You need SSL on the server,
and then use securepages module to indicate that the cart payment pages should be run over SSL

  1. The latest code in the Drupal 6-2 branch has the uc_realex_remote module

thanks alan. i'm going to stick with the redirect approach for now and see if i can get the template to look as similar as possible to the merchant site. so far i'm still testing against my realex developer account in test mode and it seems to go pretty well.

however i just posted a support question against uc_realex about getting the user back to the merchant site, so if you have a chance could u have a look?

thanks

WorldNet Ubercart plug-ins

kevpatts - Fri, 2010-11-05 12:12

Mike,

Just thought I'd mention that WorldNet have both redirect (http://www.worldnettps.com/plug-ins/php/ubercart/2.2/hpp/ubercart2.2-hpp...) and remote (http://www.worldnettps.com/plug-ins/php/ubercart/2.2/xml/ubercart2.2-xml...) plug-ins for UberCart. They can be easily configured for testing using our Sandbox test accounts (details: http://www.worldnettps.com/developers/resources-documentation). These both work out of the box with minimal configuration.

This would be a viable option if you would be willing to consider an alternative to Realex.

Kevin Pattison

stella
i knew about the wheel but had forgotten about it. most of my time is taken up with dulra.org, a non-profit community-focused organisation, so the wheel will be a good resource i'll have a look at next week.

tried your checkout just to see the realex screen - so my apologies but i left an order "in checkout" !
your renaming of the checkout buttons is very clear, hope you dont mind if i copy that!

Hi Mike

I was looking for something like this myself, selling the bookings to the Transition gathering,
led me to research other solutions to pay pal, some folks are not so happy with them.

Let me know how you get on with realex

I have eventually got my first drupal site live
