How about a Social Networking BOF (and master strategy session) at DrupalCon2008 Boston?

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

I am very interested in the state of Social Networking direction for Drupal.
I would also be interested in writing/contributing modules if I knew how they would all fit together.

I propose a Bird-of-a-Feather (BOF) meeting on Social Networking in Drupal at DrupalCon2008 in Boston.

We can get to know all of the people working on Social Networking stuff for Drupal and create a coordinated
plan for making Drupal a top-notch Social Networking platform. (If this plan already exists, please fill me in on it.)

What do you think?

Stephen Adkins

P.S. My particular interest right now is in Data Portability and Identity Aggregation (XFN, FOAF, SIOC, etc.),
but I am interested in all aspects of Drupal as a Social Networking platform.
My current project is to satisfy the "GraphSync challenge" (http://dataportability.org/graphsync/) on
a Drupal site (http://www.shareduniverse.net) and let everyone know how to do it.

The idiom Birds of a Feather is a shortening of the proverb "Birds of a feather flock together". meaning that people (birds) of the same kind or interest (of a common feather) enjoy spending time (flocking) together. This proverb is believed to date back as far as Greek and Roman times, but has become commonly used as jargon by various groups since the nineteenth century.
