I'm looking at having the a Drupal Cape Town meetup sometime in March.
The first question is of course if there are Drupal enthusiasts in Cape Town who would like to meetup once in a while. I assume there is a need for it, so I would propose to meet on a Saturday, both 2nd and 9th of March is possible for me.
Please post preferred days, dates and possible venue's. It would be great if you can offer your own office or meeting space:-)
A few ideas for this meetup that I got from the Jo'burg meetup agenda:
-
Opening: Introductions
- Who you are, what you do
- What you use Drupal for
- What you would like to get out of the this and future meetups
...
...
...
Frans.

Cape Town
Hi Frans,
Definitely interested, and any of the dates suit me.
I run http://www.filmmaker.co.za which I'm now moving over into Drupal hoping to launch in July.
Would love meeting Drupal developers in CT for the purpose of community, guidance, news etc.
All the best,
Lilian
I will only be back on like the 14th / 15th
I'm going to DrupalCon Boston, and will be spending a few days in vancouver afterwards.

I'm a recent university grad from Canada, working in Cape Town (in Drupal) for a local NGO. I am in the midst of a very tricky migration from a 10-year-old database-driven legacy system to Drupal. (~9200 nodes, ~800 registered users) We hope to go live this weekend, actually!
I've been developing with Drupal for a few years... experimented in scalability and module development from time to time. I would like to meet some fellow Drupal enthusiasts to see what they've been getting out of Drupal locally, as I know Canada has pockets of very active Drupal development on Prince Edward Island and in Vancouver. I'm interested to find out where people's priorities lie for future core development of Drupal, as I'm sure localization is probably more of a pressing issue in this country than in mine, for example.
Both dates would likely suit. Unfortunately, I'm unable to host.

actually
Canada is far more stringent on localisation, due to the government mandate that all sites must be in both english and french.
something south africa doesn't have.
I'm actually on my way to vancouver next week.
