it was interesting to meet you guys yesterday, and to see there is such an active Drupal community in Austria :)
Glad to see so much interest and ventures towards the Semantic Web!
See you at the next Vienna meetup :))) ???

why not ;)

criz's picture

Why not, it would be great. ;) But when you are in Vienna next time, just let us know...

And thanks again for your great presentation!

Was a wonderful first meeting

Hi guys: This was a wunderful, interesting and cool first event for me. Was a super evening!
So, still, if it's interest you, I will talk a little bit about unit-testing next time. And I am looking foreward to a buddylist presentation, and criz, you seem to have some knowledge about webservices in drupal, have you already presented that? {it's a hint :P }

scor: It was really nice to see you. Maybe we will see us @ the Triple-I Conference (http://triple-i.tugraz.at/), the one thing where I think your presentation yesterday would be really interesting is in one of these special tracs: http://triple-i.tugraz.at/i_media/special_tracks . It would be really cool if we see you next time!!! Ah, what do you think about the yahoo initiative in including some standarts into the search now.

Hm, since the night was long: What was the module besides panels for widgets?

So, again, was a super cool evening, and the beer in nelsons and in the irish pub was good!
Joerg

Yes, it was definitely a

criz's picture

Yes, it was definitely a successful evening. And not only the beer drinking... ;)

Unit-Testing would be an interesting topic, for sure! And certainly Buddylist will be on the agenda of one of the next meetups.

I'm not very into Drupal and Webservices, but Fago did something in this direction, maybe he is willing to talk about it too.

Cheers,
chris

webservices

dorgon's picture

The WS we use for our job platform was written by fago and me. I think, we can give an introduction in general next time if somebody is interested, right fago?

Currently we have only a "Server" running, which means an application may connect to the site and execute an operation. I did the Java code and the php base and Fago did the Drupal integration as a module. We are using the SOAP extension included in the PHP distribution and Apache Axis on the Java side. It's really easy to use. The other direction, executing remote operations as a "Client" is even easier, just use the SoapClient from the php SOAP extension.

Regards,
Andy

services

fago's picture

yep, one can easily use the php soap extension with drupal. furthermore there is also the great services module out there: http://drupal.org/handbook/modules/services

Widget module

jpetso's picture

Hm, since the night was long: What was the module besides panels for widgets?

I guess that would be MySite: http://drupal.org/project/mysite

See you next time!

Hi,

I also enjoyed the meeting! Great, that you all had time to come, especially Scor jetting to VIE ;-) We could do a semantic-specific Drupal meetup monthly or also occasionally. I hope to see you next time!
cheers,
Andy
