We discussed having a more technical meetup in October and Oct. is already here. The thoughts for meetups are to alternate between social and technical meetups. Also discussed was to have the next meeting during the middle of the week. So please go to groups.drupal.org/durango and post your preference for the next meeting and if you would want to volunteer for a presentation or a topic you might want to learn about.

Meeting times and topics
I'll throw out the 13th or 14th of October for possible meeting dates (Wed or Thurs). Or possibly the same days the next week.
Larry, would you have any interest in a 'build your own module' presentation? I know the basics of how to set one up but additional examples and use cases would be great knowledge to have. I could co-host that if you'd like.
At some point I could present on using the Drupal Quickstart virtual machine that I just started using for all of my testing. It's a super slick Ubuntu VM that runs on Oracle's Virtualbox. Makes setting up test and dev sites super easy and runs on pretty much every platform out there.

I'm interested
I'll do my best to be there. Thursdays work better for me through mid November. The 14th or 21st would be great.
As for topics, I would be interested in either Larry's custom module building, or Brian's dev process. I would also be willing to present on a number of topics; recently, I have been using Features to store things like views, content types, and Contexts (for site layout) in code. Strongarm is a nice compliment to store other settings, although I find myself just writing _update functions in a custom module instead. I'd need to polish things up a bit, and I'm not sure how many folks would be interested, but I have been learning all I can about mapping in drupal, using Gmap, Location, OpenLayers, Spatial Tools, Geo and a host of other available modules. I could also talk about my top/favorite modules, or creating content types, maybe an image gallery - which is a common request, and can be done so many different ways. I'm open to anything, and looking forward to another meetup.

21st?
At this point, since there have been no other replies for this Thursday, should we shoot for the 21st?
I'd be interested in learning more about mapping. We would like to have maps to each of the schools and possibly to locations where the school athletic teams play and things like that. Could be handy.
