Thinking about the issue we had with having to merge the two groups, I thought why can't we (roc people) still meet together even when the actual meeting is being held in buffalo and project the gotomeeting on the large screen with mic. Is anyone else from rochester down with this? I'm not sure what equipment we would need to do this so I wanted to bounce it off everyone. I wonder if Coworking Roc would be ok with it too, especially since it's only for an hour and a half a month.
any thoughts?

meetings
I love the idea of doing a local Roc meeting, not to mention using gotomeeting to connect to the Buffalo seminar would be outstanding. I am currently a student, and as much as I love Drupal, school has kept me from making the meetings in Buffalo. Not to mention any chance to hang with local Drupal junkies makes me a happy camper!
I am down with the idea. :)
Digital Artist who loves working with Drupal! :)
Welcome
We've had a couple of the meetings in Rochester so far. The gotomeeting has been very popular, as well. Hope to see or hear you at a meeting!/BF
The A/V List
What you would need in general is:
Projector
Screen (or surface)
Computer that can run Gotomeeting (Mac/Win)
Speakers
Microphone(s)
Coworking Rochester, it they're up for hosting (we generally contact them in advance), has the first two covered in their meeting room. We set up the gotomeeting on my company's account and broadcast from every meeting, whether in Buf or Roch, though it's always better to be there, I've heard. Going without the last two provides for the kind of one-way experience we had in the first couple of meetups -- not great. So Audio (in and out) support is recommended.
I think this great -- and is potentially a model for having the meetup happen in multiple cities simultaneously with presenters from any and all locations. That allows us to pool presenters from Buf/Rch/Syr and spend a little less time marketing; and for cities that don't have a recurring meeting location yet (like Buffalo), it takes a little of the pressure off. (Can't decide if that's a good thing or not -- but it sure sounds appealing!)
Curious to see if this takes off, or if people prefer to converge.
next time
Well since I thought about this a little too late for the October meeting, lets try to do this for the November meeting (assuming it's not in Rochester.... or if it is, maybe people would want to get together in Buff or Cuse)
