Please join me and other, area developers to build much needed sites for charities! You will be well fed for FREE!
GiveCamp ( http://givecamp.org/ ) is a national organization that invites coders to donate their time for charities [non-profits] that either need their 1st site or a replacement site or functionality added to an existing site. Some coders on hand will be building desktop applications.
Nov 5 thru 7 will be the 1st GiveCamp in Indianapolis http://IndyGiveCamp.org 6 meals will be covered and most of us will be sleeping on site. you are more than welcome to go home and come back if you like. We'de love everyone to stay for the whole thing but we also appreciate the people who may only have one day to help out. Don't disqualify yourself!
I'm on the organizing team which has been working hard for months now to gather sponsors, coders, and charities. We're really hoping to bring a diverse number of people and platforms together to get these charities served!
I'm personally hoping that the Drupal community will show up IN-FORCE and show that our platform ROX and that Drupalers GIVE! :-)
In the midst of selecting the charities, one was Indy Multiples. http://www.indymultiples.org/ We have met one of their organizers, Jennifer, when she showed up at a DrupalHackFest long ago. It was there that I discovered that her site was on Drupal 4.7.5! When she submitted her request to IndyGiveCamp she specifically asked for CiviCRM. I then went to DuoConsulting to ask if they would kindly donate Emanuel London who is a known CiviCRM Ninja. They agreed! So we're gong to build a new site and migrate over the little content they have on the 4.7.5 site while Emanuel rocks out the CiviCRM.
There are other charities that will also be built during the weekend. Wether or not these sites are in Drupal depends on the number of Drupalers we have at the GiveCamp. :-)

On to the next camp!
In 13 days we have IndyGiveCamp.org hitting us. Nov5 thru Nov7, Fri-Sun.
PLZ register here : http://www.indygivecamp.org/Volunteer/SignUp
Some people are only available for one day or limited time spans across multiple days. That's fine. We have a core team shaping up that's going to ride it out for the long haul.
From Friday just before dinner to Sunday at 4pm I'd like to see as many Drupalers as possible get together and show off our mad ninja skillz.
After you register on the IndyGiveCamp site PLZ also register on this event-node. I'd like to keep our team connected.
Wether you're a themer, work with front end or back end, or anything... Join us for a fun three days of free food while we help out some local charities!
Thank you!

4 days away | Who's coming?
Tonight the IndyGiveCamp organizing team is having a meeting to finalize some of the details before the big day.
Here's the oh so small list of Drupalers coming to the gig that I know of. [hint: more NON indy Drupalers than Indy druaplers]
Doug Vann - that's me :-)
Emanuel London of DuoConsulting from Chicago IL.
Jamie Meredith of Britesparks from Nashvlle TN
Matthew Connerton from Asheville NC
Aaron Dudenhofer of WebEasyMedia in Indpls.
I'd like to see some more Drupalers on the list.
You don't have to be there from 4pm Friday to 2pm Sunday. You can pop in and out if you like.
If you're considering coming but have any questions hit me up on email or submit my contact form at http://dougvann.com/contact-doug-vann
I'll be there...
... but can't make it on Friday night. So, add one more Indy Drupaler to the list!
Updated list of Drupalers at IndyGiveCamp
Doug Vann - that's me :-)
Emanuel London of DuoConsulting from Chicago IL.
Matthew Connerton from Asheville NC
Aaron Dudenhofer of WebEasyMedia in Indpls.
Ray Stuart of WebEasyMedia in Indpls.
We lost Jamie and picked up Ray so we're still at 5. It's looking like we will have two teams. If we can get a 6th Drupaler then we can have three teams of 2 each.

6th Drupaler
I'm going to be there this weekend. Is there still a drupal spot for me?
Come on down!
Sure!
