North County San Diego DUG

NCSD-DUG (North County San Diego Drupal Users Group) is an extension of the original core San Diego Group, and our meetups happen on alternate weeks so you can attend both if you want! We discuss all manner of goings-on, provide site demos of locally created Drupal websites, receive training via the developer & themer secrets sessions, and encourage everyone who attends to be prepared to share something Drupal-related during our five-minute lightning talks.

Monthly Meetups: We meet at the Carlsbad, CA NAMM headquarters in the Museum Of Making Music building on the last Thursday of each month from 7pm - 9pm. 5790 Armada Drive Carlsbad, CA 92008 (map)

Annual Drupal Camp: Each year, we host a multi-day Drupal Camp in Downtown San Diego; coming up on January 25th - 28th, 2012. Learn, train, interact, network, and grow with the best! Find out more info, and if you can please help to sponsor us: sandcamp.org.

Forms Validation Help

I could use some coder help.

I have a page manager panel that displays a view with exposed filters for Location/Proximity and displays results of stores, along with a gmap for all resulting locations.

This works like a champ. The problem is I need to validate the results to make sure a zip code is entered, otherwise the result set is every store and the map takes a lot of time and resources to render.

I am trying to validate on the submit button, but it appears that the submit button is validated even before it is clicked.

Temecula Area DUG?

I have been trying to get some local folks to meet up in the Temecula/Murrieta area and found that there are very few of us around this area.

Not knowing the level of expertise, availability, or meeting frequency that possible attendees would enjoy, I thought I would just show up someplace and extend an invitation to anyone interested.

I plan on going to the Temecula Public Library every Tuesday evening from 6-8pm in the Grace Mellman Heritage Room, or one of the private rooms if it is booked, starting tomorrow, 5/22/2012 and or a month or so to see how it goes.

The Definitive Guide to Drupal 7 - North County Group

Hi,

Is there a group in the North County going through the The Definitive Guide to Drupal 7?
If so, when & where do you guys meet?

Url Aliases for Date Ranges OR creating your own custom tokens

Hey guys,
Sorry for inundating your inboxes - I've searched google and the drupal site was unable to come up with an answer.

I've downloaded the Token & PathAuto module and am currently attempting to customize the path pattern for a content type. This content type has a date range that I'd like to use when creating the path pattern... a single date has replacement pattern options that allows the user me to get the Year, Month, and Day so teh path pattern looks like something like "/2012/05/04/content-name".

Working with teammembers

Hey guys,
Another newbie question. I'm current working on some projects for school and want to be able to have my graphic designers be able to edit the look of the site. We've been using Dropbox to share the static version of the site and now that we've gone on to the Drupal site, I've had a hard time of sharing the site I'm creating in Drupal with the designers on my team.

Page redirect to the latest node of a specific type

Hey guys,
I've been working with Drupal for about 2 months now and consider myself an intermediate when it comes to site building Drupal (still a novice when it comes to module authoring and a novice-intermediate when it comes to theming).

My questions are the following:

1) How can I set up a page redirect from either a page or a link on the main menu to the latest node of a specific content type?

Greetings and introduction

Hey all, Just wanted to introduce myself and connect with other developers in the Penasquitos/Rancho Bernardo/Poway area. I am particularly interested in any/all of the following:

1) Green/holistic/organic -- Working with groups that are helping with sustainability, organic, and overall green production methods

2) Membership directories - when groups need different ways to update their membership and provide "member benefits" like member blogs, mapping, publishing "portfolios" and the like

(If you don't yet have your copy, google "download apress definitive guide to drupal 7" to get started. Buy the book; it's worth it.) Bring your notebook computer. If you have a Mac, try to get MAMP running. If you have a Windows PC, please try to get WAMP Server running before the meeting. Please RSVP at http://www.meetup.com/Solana-Beach-Drupal-Meetup/events/53719252/ so we can estimate headcount. We'll meet at Pannikin's Del Mar, 2670 Via De La Valle (just East of I-5). This month, we're going to talk about apps! No, not iPad apps, Drupal Apps! http://drupal.org/project/apps Let's talk about some of the new things we learned at DrupalCon Denver!

  1. Drupal 8 will be incorporating certain components of the Symfony2 PHP modular framework!
  2. The D8 WSCCI Initiative (Web Services & Configuration Core Initiative) has split up because it was "too big to accomplish in one lifetime". Configuration is now it's own initiative, and Web Services has been scaled back a bit for the D8 release.
