North West UK

Drupal NWUK meets on the third Thursday of the month and features expert help, demonstrations and handouts. Bring your Drupal questions and problems, as well as any projects you'd like to demo.
We plan to have at least two "demos" with time for questions and chat with the option of moving on to a pub for refreshment!
Keep an eye on this group and also http://www.drupal.org.uk for announcements.
The group has its own site at http://nwdug.org.uk/ and there is also a Google group (nwdug) you can join.
There's often plenty of us to be found in #drupaluk on irc.freenode.net. Jump in and say hi! We're a friendly bunch!

Drupal Developer | Spring Technology

Employment type:
Contract
Telecommute:
Not allowed

I have a number of clients in London and South East who are interested in sourcing Developers and Project Managers with demonstratable Drupal experience for projects now and over the next quarter.

I would be keen to introduce myself to you if you are in considering new contract assignments or in a contract and want to be on my radar for future contact.

I've been recruiting for over 12 years - my approach is consultative rather than transaction sales and looking to build my network.

Feel free to email me on rob_saunders@spring.com or call on 0121 252 3430

City selection for DrupalCon 2010 still wide open

Please note that the list of cities from http://groups.drupal.org/node/26241 (as per the BoF in Paris) is just a list of possible suggestions. Please see the draft document that has been proposed for city selection guidelines: http://groups.drupal.org/node/27246

The goal is to publish that document at the end of this week (after incorporating feedback from the community) and to start receiving city proposals immediately after that. Since we need to have recommendations to give to the Drupal Association by October 15 the proposal phase will have to be short. The proposal phase will probably end October 1. After that we will have the proposals reviewed by the events agency to gather their feedback in time for the October 15 deadline.

If you want DrupalCon in your city/country in 2010 please review the document and add your feedback!

New Drupal Book : Drupal 6 Site Blueprints

<

blockquote>Bad news is always good news for the press. And so Vaughan Pyre has decided to take advantage of this and create a web site that will aggregate bad news and weird happenings from all over the world. The content of the site will be entirely derived from RSS feeds from several sources; each feed being automatically fetched and its items displayed as individual articles on the web site. Vaughan's intention is to create a lot of self-updating web sites which he intends to populate with Google ads for site users to click and click so that he can make a lot of money.

NWDUG February Meet-up

You're welcome to bring your Drupal questions and problems, as well as any projects you'd like to demo.

We usually have a good turnout of people, ranging from complete beginners with the software to full-time developers, so if you're looking to learn more about Drupal, this user group is a great place to start.

Hi NW Drupal people

Hi Guys,

I am just starting out developing with Drupal and wondered what sort of level most of the guys in this group are at?

I am familiar with php, mysql, linux etc but the site I am planning to build at the moment will be my first drupal site.

Just wondered if I would be a burdon to the group/meet ups or if it would be a good idea for me to get involved.

I will also be looking to pay a local drupal developer to work on certain aspects of the project and certainly with the initial setup (e.g use of available modules etc.)

Drupalcamp Manchester

I'm in the process of looking for sponsorship and a suitable venue in Manchester for a Drupalcamp. I'm aiming to make it a two day event, but other than that, I'm after some input on the format and content.

So, what would you like to see at your ideal Drupalcamp Manchester? Who would you like to see talk? What topics are you most interested in? Would you prefer to see talks, workshops or a mix of the two? I'm open to ideas, so please fire away and help make Drupalcamp Manchester an event to remember :-)

Dan
