Seattle

Welcome to the Seattle Users' Group!

The SEADUG meets regularly (at least once a month officially) to talk about Drupal, to plan Drupal events like Drupal Camp, and have some Drupal Fun. During SEADUG meetings we showcase modules and projects. Share tips and tricks and answer nagging questions about Drupal. We've discussed possible "barn raisings" for worthy organizations or code sprinting on modules.

This is a geographic Drupal User Group meant primarily for planning local Drupal related events and meetups, and supporting users locally.

PLEASE do not post job offers in this group unless they are local to Seattle. Any job posted to this group that is not in the Seattle/King County Metropolitan Area will be promptly removed.

If you are a consultant or vendor providing Drupal services in the Seattle/King County Metro Area ONLY, please add your name to this post.

Drupal 7 Code Sprint

Start:
2010-07-25 10:00 America/Los_Angeles
Organizers:

CHX will be in Seattle July 25-26 and has expressed interested in having a code sprint here to crank on the D7 criticals queue and port modules to D7. Is anyone interested in this? While this event will probably be pretty code-centric, I think it would be an excellent introduction for people who are curious and interested in how to get more involved in the Drupal community. If Jennifer can make it, I'm sure she would be up for some documentation queue wrangling and we can make sure there is stuff for all skill levels to do.

Looking to meet other green, sustainable, eco-friendly type developers

I am looking to establish relationships with other Drupal developers and themers who are interested in eco-friendly, green, progressive, sustainable, or social justice projects.

Who's with me?

Through my company http://www.10kwebdesign.com we do a lot of work with green businesses, membership groups, and multicultural women entrepreneurs, and I'd like to collaborate and grow with other people who are committed to working in this sphere.

My sense is that there is a very deep need for good developers to offer their skills and talents to the green and clean economy.

It’s exciting times for Drupal in the Pacific Northwest. Planning for the October 2010 Pacific Northwest Drupal Summit in Vancouver, Canada is progressing nicely. Want to find out more, keep on reading!

Background

The process started in earnest last year with a call for participation. From there we established an Organizing Committee and starting laying down the foundation for the conference. Although I was the one that kicked things off I’m extremely pleased to announce that Vanessa Turke of ImageX Media took on the role of Organizing Committee chair and is doing a wonderful job. The Organizing Committee would also like to acknowledge the support we’re getting from last year’s Seattle organizing committee.

Contacts

Sponsorship: Phillip Djwa, Phillip [at] agentic DOT ca
Volunteers: Vanessa Turke, Vanessa [at] imagexmedia DOT com
Presenters/Keynotes: Chris Geoghegan, chris [at] imagexmedia DOT com
Training: Dale McGladdery, dale.mcgladdery [at] gmail DOT com
General Inquires: Vanessa Turke, Vanessa [at] imagexmedia DOT com

The Conference

Here’s what we’ve nailed down about the conference so far:

Date: October 2 & 3, 2010
Venue: UBC Robson Square, Vancouver, BC
Tracks: Developer
Design & Theme

Business & Project Management
Birds of a Feather
Financing: The conference is primarily financed from sponsorship, with a small contribution coming from ticket sales.
Organizing: There are no paid organizing positions. We’re all volunteer.
